Exhaust Rattle 2002 Maxima

Just bought a 2002 Maxima

but it seems to have an exhaust rattle when idling and when on down rev. Very aggravating sometimes. Didnt know if anyone else had this problem with their 02'.

Very common, usually a heat shield.

check the rubber hangers, if loose- wrap a metal hose clamp around the hangers and adjust until tight.

You need a cattman Y-pipe.

Good advice above for starters. Heat shields can be tough to nail down, might have to get under the car, (safely, of coarse), while someone revs the engine.
