Fuel door cover

Hey guys,

the fuel door on our Maxima opens by itself all the time. Whenever I go somewhere when I step out its open, at first I thought maybe I was hitting the button when I was getting in and out but last night I was following my wife home and about 5 mins into the drive I saw it pop open. Does anyone else have this problem?

I actually have the same problem. There is something wrong with the fuel-door design.

I haven't really looked at the design since my wife drives it most the time. I also noticed when I pop it the door does not open all the way and its a pita to open.

Mine opens all the way every time so far. Try cleaning the mechanism and lubing it with WD-40 perhaps? I haven't really looked at what it consists of but it sounds like the mechanism may be gunked up.
