That sounds like Sterling Mist. The "real" silver is the color that Rochester has, I forgot the name of it. They look similar until parked next to each other, lol.

Just check out the tag on your firewall, if it says KT3 you've got sterling mist.

OP: nice car, merlot is my favorite color for 5.5 gens.

Correct on the color. Sheer Silver was a 2003-only color. And no, I don't think they look the same. Well not to me, at least. Here's a photo of the similar colors. Left to right, we have: Sterling Mist, Sheer Silver (me), Polished Titanium, Super Black. Otherwise known as, "Three TE's and me."

Or, "No tint. No drop. No care."

Speaking of tint, that's something else I forgot to add to my list. It's funny, if I just picked up another Pathfinder it'd just sit in the garage but now that I got a nice Max, I can't help but mod it

Going to check out the TEINs tomorrow too.

That's because your car isn't silver. It's gray.

Sterling is silver as in sterling silver though, right? Nissan should have called it murky light grey intead.

Doesn't even always look grey to me. Goofy color, so dependent on the lighting. Looks really good at sunrise and sunset though.

Would really have liked another grey lustre, tungsten or meridian blue but when a 6 speed pops up, color becomes secondary-especially when you are getting leather too.

Scott First Pic's you posted I said Sterling Mist, same as mine. The Sterling Mist has a great metallic flex all through the paint which is just out standing when polished and buffed and the sun's rays just dance across the paint.

That was almost a month ago, how am I supposed to remember that far back?

The paint does look better in the sun than in the shade. Women seem to really like the color-not like it is a girly color, they just seem to really like it. My older son really doesn't like it at all, says he liked the color of my other one more.

Newbie Here, 2000 Nissan Maxima SE

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself, I have been a member of this from since 05 but i was silent for most of the time since i never had a maxima, I originally opened the account since my friend use to own a 4G maxima which he totalled , anyway, I have just purchased a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE, great car, lots of stock power however she does need some minor repairs, here is a few photos which i have uploaded:

I need to replace the rear shocks, as the car skips whenever, i go over any bumps, i figured i should replace all 4 with some GR-2 but im still not sure, I am also looking for a set of brake rotors as the ones i have now keep sqeeking everytime i leave my drive way lol

I am also looking at a set of Helo Headlights off ebay, has anyone purchased a similiar set before for their ride? some comments would greatly be appreciate as i plan to install a HID kit and i am afraid that i might melt the housing. For the mean time, i had just cleaned my headlights as they were weathered here is some before and after images

Before:

After:

Thanks for looking and remember, your inputs are important

Regards

Nim

Looks good.

And please don't put HIDs in those halogen headlights. If you plan on installing HIDs, swap out the headlights for the ones form an 02-03. They fit and will have the proper light pattern so they won't blind other people.

check my progress thread for more pics, but this is a good pic to show you the AE headlights

as far as HIDs in the stock housings....do what you want. i get blinded by new tundras w/ stock halogens that are 10x brighter than my halogens...so like i said..do as you please

blurry pic, but you get the concept of HIDs in halogen lights

6k dim??..

If they're true HID's, 6k is a bright choice, IMO. 4300k being the brightest.

let's see.. i have a 2000 GLE with 113316k on it. for some reason, i remember the mileage like it were my social security. at the time, i was in desperate need for a car with air conditioning aswell as not overheating (previously had a oldsmobile intrigue, god bless) and within a year, i have 126k miles.

since i've had no major problems with the car, i became bored of it and because of not dealing with paying to get stuff fixed, i started looking elsewhere. with that said, i pimped my **** out

- slapped on an intake

- tinted windows

- tinted sidemarkers

- tinted foglights.. don't ask lol

- aftermarket tailights, which by the way were said to have been compatible for the 2000 model and then when i get them, the wiring harness is only for the 03 SE.

- after drilling holes into the tailights, slipping the harness in, and taping them from falling out, i got those little chrome things you can find at advanced and i slipped them onto my grill to make it somewhat resemble an 03 edition.

if my car doesn't suddenly fall apart, break, or blow up, i'm thinking about getting a magnaflow cat with a catback exhaust, dropping the suspension, debadging the car and putting the stock spoiler on it, or one of those visors that go over the back windshield.

Thanks i hope i can do some friends around here and help in anything i can. Well about the transmission, in something very extrange.

When "N", 3D, 2D, 1D... it moves forward when i press the gas pedal... also it feels like trying to go forward in "P" position... and in the "R" position, it doesn't move at all, its like pressing on the brake and gas pedals at the same time

New Car!

What's up guys? I just picked up an 03 max SE auto for $10200...dealer had it for 11000 but I knocked it down...It has 65k miles on it..black on black leather and has the meridian and titanium package...car is extremely clean no scratches or anything...was this a good deal or did I pay too much? I've been looking for a month and this was by far the best deal i found...any input would be much appreciated!
