Oof, sorry to hear about the holders but glad it's all working out for you in the end. Mine are quite a few years old now and still going strong.

By far one of the best interior mods I’ve done. Thanks!

I did the drop in mod to my 03 SE with warm white bulbs. Color is greatly improved but the hotspotting is bad. It's actually less noticable at night than at dusk but I think I'll eventually get some 360 degree bulbs and resistors and do it right.

I also tried the NEO bulbs in my A/C since one was burned out, hotspotting is worse in there, same fix will be applied there too.

I know this is 7 yrs old, but if you don't mind my asking...my problem is that the speedo and other needles on my 2001 GLE are really dim. Are they lit by the same bulbs? Your LED pics seem to have dim needles, too. At night, I have to take my eyes off the road for too long to find my needles.

There are 2 bulbs that light the gauges. Check out this thread for up to date info. https://maxima.org/forums/5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003/702475-cluster-leds-2018-a.html
