VIAS fix attempt, partial fail

OK so I got my VIAS from org member today and went to put JB Weld in it to beef up bottom. No spring came with it! WTH! My odl VIAS box is jb welded together. I proceed to pry spring out of weld. Well it worked and now my spring is gone, nowehere to be found. It shot out, once it broke free.
So my question is, does anyone know of a like sized replacement for it( a spring out of anything else). Or is there really a need for said spring? Something else to put in its place to hold the tension? Can i do w/o, or did i just waste my money b/c part is useless w/o spring?

PLEASE HELP

Auto part store often carry a selection of springs. It's a shot-in-the-dark, but start somewhere. I don't know what size the spring is, but start thinking outside the box. What else uses springs that is cheap? Pens. Lawnmower accel linkages. Simple mechanism toys. Hopefully, you remember the size and the estimated spring tension.

This is what I assume but I don't really know.

Yes you need a spring, you can pull the vias tube or whatever you call it back and forth it has some play in it for whatever reason, so I think the spring keeps it from moving. Spring length and tension probably matter (if its too long it wont bolt on, if its too short it would stay in place and if the spring is too strong it probably puts too much pressure on it and will have friction when its switching runners)

I included the spring, cup, bolts, washers, and brackets for the hoses. All hardware for a plug and play install. Cup is in the VIAS box and the rest is in the little baggie that I taped on the end of the power rod. Check again please and let me know.

Yea, no spring. That was the first thing I looked for. Not blaming you, its easy to lose I already know. But def never had 1in package from u. I found a viable replacement at ace hardware. Lil stiffer but same length/diameter. How much friction are we really talking about? I figure it should be alright. the rod can only go in so far, and I assume it hits th plate on other side.
Edit: also went thru trash can piece by piece just to make sure it was not by itself, got all the hardware but it was not in plastic bag.

I doubt its going to make a dif if its a little bit stiffer, I was just saying if you put a lot of pressure on something its going to take more energy to move it right? I think you will be fine.

OK everyone, got the VIAS back in the car today, with the ACE spring in it. Took her for a test drive, and... WOW wut a difference. Im not so sure the old one ever worked! I cant wait to get back to the drag strip and dyno now. Thinking bout dynoing again and doing the GAB hanger thing, if first two runs are consistent, on the third run. Just for sh**s and giggles.

Thanks guys, especially you VQ!
