Everyone talks about the 5.5 and oil burning as if it's normal. I have a 03 Max with 37K miles and it has never burned a noticable drop of oil and always ran conventional until today when the dealer put in a full synthetic change in error for free. So hopefully this doesn't CAUSE a oil leak/burning problem.

I run full synthetic on 184000 miles with 0 leaks...bought used. I had some top end engine work done though...

This usually won't help. You are burning oil due to worn rings, valve guide seals etc. Oil types usually wont unwear an engine wearing out. Make sure your PCV system is not clogged and you are not leaking.
