02 Maxima clicking noise/screeching in reverse

Symptom: After driving for 10+ minutes I get this clicking noise coming from the left front that increases/decreases with vehicle speed. When I put the car in reverse and start backing up the clicking turns into a loud screeching noise that I can make stop by hitting the brakes fairly hard. I have had the brakes apart multiple times to check for uneven wear/anything out of the ordinary and have cleaned the entire setup twice now, no change. Are these symptoms reminiscent of a bad cv or a bad wheel bearing? I do not get any other strange noises besides the clicking/screeching in reverse. Search provided nothing but results for screeching/clicking when applying the brakes which is not the case here.

Jack up the car and leave the wheel on. If you can wiggle the wheel up, down, left, right, it is probably a wheel bearing. But if there is play that should lead you to the issue
