New Website for my 2K2!

Just made a website for my 2K2 Max and just wanted some feedback. It is obviously in the first stage, but it will be in full operation soon.

Nice Page...Just need to change the part that says "The 2002 Maxima and the 2000 Lexus GS400 are the two fastest regular production 4-door sedans".....E55 AMG, 540i 6 speed, M5, and XJR will toast a GS400.

A BMW 540i 6-speed will not beat a GS400 in the 1/4 mile. The E55, M5, and XJR are not "regular" production cars. They are high-performance versions of the E-class, 5 series, and XJ8 respectively.

Does a GS400/430 run better than 14.0 in the 1/4?? E55 and M5's are regular production cars. They are just higher priced and limited production, so you dont see them everyday. I can go to my local dealer and purchase one if I had the cash.

If you are a magazine racer, which you seem to be, the best 1/4 mile time for the GS4/430 is 14.1; however, it ranges from 14.1-14.6 So if you can brake-torque to 2500rpm, then a 14.5 is easily done. "Non-regular" and "limited" production are basically the same thing.

I am not a magazine racer, in fact I have been to the track a couple of times. As for a GS400/430 vs 6 speed 540, if propely driven the 5 series will beat the GS everytime. My buddy has a GS430 and it is pretty even with a 540i AUTO. The GS430 might beat it by .1-.2 down the 1/4. So how is it hard to believe that a more efficient manual with better matched gearing isnt quicker?

The GS430 is actually slower than the GS400. For one, the GS4 is somewhat lighter, and if you believe that e-shift actually shortens the shift time, then the GS4 has another one on the GS430. I have seen many GS400's go at 540i 6-speeds because I am a big Lexus fan, and many of my friend drive Lexus's. I never said the GS430 would beat the 540i 6-speed.

ok...I can intervene here becuase I have OWNED the '98 GS400 and now own the '01 GS430. The weight difference is negligable, besides the extra torque that the GS430 has will easily make up for a slight increase in weight. As for e-shift being faster LMAO....go over to clublexus.com (I'm a regular poster over there) and tell them that e-shift shifts faster than normal. They will laugh you out of the building. The only difference between e-shift and normal drive is that you can pick WHEN you shift. BUT that doesn't mean that it will shift at a higher RPM than usual. If you try to let the car wind out to redline it will shift for you...just like normal UNLIKE other tiptronic transmissions from other car manufacturers. Another little tid bit; a good many individuals over at clublexus have run their GS400s...and they have turn no better quarter mile times than the few GS430s that have run. In my experience owning BOTH the GS400 and the GS430...neither one is faster....in both cars I could take an AUTOMATIC 540i by about a carlength to 100. The 6-speed 540i will walk ANY STOCK GS. Hell, a 6-speed 540i will out run a friggen NSX from 80-150. Get your info straight.

Furthermore, your claim that the M5, E55, and Jag XJR not being regular production cars is completely off base. They are NOT special editions, or limited production cars. If your gonna talk about the fastest 4 door production cars in the US...you better be talking about the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG, NOT the GS400 and the friggen Maxima.

M5, XJR, and E55 AMG aren't regular production cars? Where did you come up with that one? They are built at the factory, and WELL more than 500 a year are made, thus defining them as a mass production car. They are BMW and Mercedes Benz and Jaguar production cars through and through. That's like saying a 996 twin turbo isnt a "production car" because they make less of them than Carreras. By your reasoning since "less" of them are made than the so called "normal" version, the 6 speed (or 5 speed in previous years) Maxima is not a production car either. You need to get your info straight man.

Have you seen any 1/4 mile times for the 6-speed 540i? I thought they were just slightly faster than the auto. I said any my earlier post that "IF YOU BELIEVE that e-sift shifts faster" - many people have said that it shifts faster, but it is basically like any other manumatic in that it shifts at the same speed. I know that the GS4/430 are almost identical in acceleration, but I think the GS4 would still beat it by about .1 seconds to the 1/4mile.

I have yet to see a 6-speed 540i at the track. But I do know that typically the 6-speed is about a half second quicker down the quarter mile than the auto, and the autos typically will run about 14.5-14.7 seconds. Now you may think that a GS is capable of reaching 14 flat bone stock...but I'll tell you right now...it can't. Typical 1/4 mile times for a GS400/GS430 are 14.4-14.7, even at 14.4 (run by a GS430) that's still two full carlengths back from a well driven 14 flat 540i 6-speed. All things equal, the GS430 will have the advantage down the quarter mile because of more torque (fastest stock GS 1/4 mile that I know of was run in a GS430).
