Changed out spark plugs and VC, lots of white smoke

I finally got all the pieces from ebay for my 03 maximas overhaul. New plugs, 04-06 rear valve cover, and an Ignition coil. I had a SES light on saying #1 cylinder was bad. The #5 spark plug hole had the oil inside it so after reading lots of post on the board I bought the new 04-06 VC. The spark plug seals on the new one are rubber which should keep out the oil. My question is once everything was together I started the car and lots of white smoke came out for a minute or two. It did clear up after letting the car run a while, but just wanted to make sure this was normal. The smoke didnt have a smell.

Thanks

More then likely its from all the oil that was in that tube draining down in the cylinder.nothing to much to worry about just keep checking for leaks and oil consumption.

Kind of what I thought. No SES light anymore. I know I saved alot of money doing this myself. THanks again to the message board and the pics someone had posted on how to do the job.

Regarding the smoke issue, I have a 99 Maxima SE with No.1 plug coil boot, splug, and boot swimming in oil......car smokes like a freight train. Can this VC boot allow oil to enter the combustion chamber? Doesn't seem logical if the splug is torqued to specs......confused !
