I Think i have a Tranny Problem..
Well this issue only happen when it gets really hot outside like 100degrees and i am driving it for about 2 hours, The car will stick and will not shift out of second gear, i also have my Speed Senor out so would that might be the problem. I Took it to a tranny shop and when they put it on the comp. it ran ok they said nothing popped up all that was wrong with it was bad tranny fluid maybe that might be it, I am going to get a fluid change to see if that changes but i dont know why it only does it when it gets to high temp. Also i heard of doing a tranny flush but tranny shops tell me that doing a flush on a old model might effect the tranny and mess something up so a fluid change is all they will do. So if yall have any Ideas what it might be please let me know

How much millage did your tranny oil got?
The tranny oil must be changed just as the oil engine must be changed too. But the main difference it's that the tranny oil last around 40,000 - 50,000 kms before you need a change.
Change it and add the correct type of oil, if the problem persists then you maybe need a deeper check to discard big problems. Greetings.

Why not flush ? Just curious.
On my other vehicle I did a flush buy draining out 1 qt at a time from the trans cooler , then re filling the amount I drained out with fresh new fluid.. I used a total of 16 bottles. Made the shifts on my truck much smoother but I also wasn't having issues like the o.p.

if you were flushing from the beginning, then yes...but many have had issues after flushing (almost whats holding the transmission together) at that point....the grit and the grim thats built up over the years between the seals and what not....
its like running seafoam in an engine w/ high mileage...you stand a greater risk of having issues. like i said, just drain and fill

You can do the poor man's flush...
I did a drain and fill each week for about 4 weeks. I'd get about 3QTs out each time and that's close enough to the 11QTs (or is it 12?) it holds.
Also, why not add a trans cooler?

that is not 100% correct. depending on the milage on the transmission, those contaminants maybe needed. the seals inside are swollen with those contaminents. Doing a full flush can cause seals to start to leak because they are accustomed to what was already in there.

I know that with the mileage and time some deposits helps the transmission to keep it working properly. Strange, weird but true
Greetings.

Well guys i just finished doing the drain and fill i got 4qrts out and filled back up also the gasket was leaking so we cleaned and sealed it also they found metal shavings in the pan which they cleaned and dryed well lets see how it drives
#13
Any other kind of debris that you have found in the pan?
BTW
The Automatic tranny filter in the 5th gen can be replaced or it can be cleaned?
#14
Im not %100 on the Filter because i took it to a tranny shop to do it. also that is all that they said they found in the pan, when they inspected my tranny all the said was wrong was the fluid was contaminated.
