Special Delivery from Megan Racing

Well I seldom post anything on the .org , however I did feel the need to share this picture of some "new" add-ons for the maxima. My muffler is pretty much rusted through from living in Boston for all these years and well since my relocation to San Diego...I felt why not splurge and get some new stuff from a local company. The OE-RS catback is going on tomorrow along with the FSTB and the sub-frame collar-kit (bought here from speedymax99).

However in all my excitement I have some hesitation upgrading my stock springs with the Megan's. Bear in mind I currently have tockico illuminas on all four and had, for a time the Eibach kit on...However the streets in the northeast made it feel like a old wooden coaster. I've searched but does anyone have any feedback on these springs and what I should realistically expect. Im hoping the collar-kit and illuminas "compensate" for the softer spring. And before anyone says...I'd love to through coilover's on her but cant come to terms dropping a grand on it now. Half-thinking that I'm just better off getting a set of H&R's and call it a day. Thanks in advance guys...

SFC's wiull make the front end feel more solid and firm over bumps and uneven roads. Youll love it.

So a year ago I decided to go back to stock springs and I sold my Eibach set...Naturally I think they would've been great out here. Ay thoughts on the Megan springs?? I live in North PB area just far enough away from bar crowd..stumbling distance even. How about you. The max looks great.

I dont really like how my megans ride. I like my ride to be stiff like kidney busting stiff. Theyre better than stock look good but dont rly like the ride. Too soft for my taste

It's weird, because according to the Megan website, their springs have rate of 280lb/in for the front and 230lb/in for the rear, where eibachs for example have a rate of 188 for the front and 290 for the rear... megans should feel stiffer in the front, but softer in the rear...

Hmm... I guess my only concern with it being a softer ride is bottoming out. Do you have any issues with bottoming out? How are the roads where you live?

If you want a firmer ride I'd suggest the Eibach...there a great drop and ride...so long as the roads are flat and even...

Did you end up trimming your bumpstops with installing the megans?

Thanks for feedback..the drop on your car looks greats with those 350z rims(?) I think Im going to give them a shot...especially since they're holding up for you in NY... Did you have to trip your bumpstops...any issues with bottoming out?

Perfect thats great to hear...I'll post some pics after the install. Very happy to hear some positive feedback on these springs. Hopefully they'll ride great with tokico illuminas I already have.

No I might have to see if I can hunt down a set of 350z AE's...

I live in the Northeast and I have HP Tokico Blue Struts and Eibach Springs. They are still but I like it when I see potholes and bumps and crap in the roads I just slow down so I don't get that SLAM when you go over things. I would think any springs no matter how stiff would feel the same on a smooth road. All in all I prefer a stiff car rather than the stock cloud like ride...felt like I was riding in a boat.

As anyone can tell you, I'm no fan of dropped suspensions. However, that looks just about perfect on your Infiniti as matched with those wheels.

Just thought I'd say thumbs-up, redcross. Beautiful work.

yea that infiniti looks great, BUT if you're one that had/has an inkling of a more aggressive drop, reconsier for some coilovers, if not, a setup similiar to that I30 will do you great.

Thanks for looking out redcross...I'm currently installing the megan springs, fstb, and catback exhaust... I'll post some pictures after I'm done...looking forward to the drop and "fingers-crossed" the ride quality. I'm hoping the sub-frame collar kit will firm things up in the front-end as well...I'll let you know.
