So this is a question I have as I am looking at getting an A33a. regarding suspension

So I have a brand new set of koni strut/shocks on vogtland springs on my a32 i30t. I was wondering if i can swap that over to the A33a?

I read a few threads and people were mixing and matching springs and shocks etc. This seems to be common practive but I cant get any solid answers.

What does it take for the 4thgens strut/shock/spring combo to fit on 5thgen.

Is it dif use of mounts or mix of spring and strut/shock?

I would really appreciate it any help. I actually just want to swap the koni strut/shocks over onto the a33a.

I like the T suspension the way it is. unless swapping the manual in makes it higher.

IIRC the 4th gen shocks fit 5th with a little modification but not a direct swap. I believe vsamoylov and mitesh on NYCM know more about this.

From what I've read on the 5th gen tein SS is the way to go. I've heard from knowledgeable people that they ride just like OEM. best look into that !

... lol. I really dont want to buy any more mod items... I was just gonna get another A32 and swap my stuff over onto that. but I have used my brothers a33a i30... and I like the body. it feels a more solid than the a32. Also the updated interior is nice. I love my a32. but the a33a is really apealing now that there cheap as heck.

I though about running the DET SC setup on the a33a and swap over my AE 5spd. It would give me a perfect a33. i30t.

hmm.. modification meaning the bolt hole on the bottom is bigger or something on the rear shock? I have the shortened konis up front on my a32. and love the koni setup in the rear.

The rear swaps over just fine. You just have to use the 5th gen mounts on the 4th gen shock assembly.

The front is easy if you have a strong drill with super string drill bits.

The pic shows 5th gen JIC coilovers on a 4th gen. Only the top hole needs to be made larger.

Oh I see! Lol.

Just put some muscle into the bolt and it'll be fine.
