That second video was great! Not only did it give a good audio of the exhaust, but the reflective image off the clean bumper gave our visual senses something to follow. Seriously, one of the best "exhaust sound" videos I've seen to date on the org.

I always see these youtube videos of people's dash while they are accelerating.....How do you get the camera to stay still how do you mount that?? You got some little tripod or something there?

Sounds better than I'd expect from an N/A motor with 3" exhaust and test pipes. Now, do you have 3" all the way?

That sounds awesome! Makes me wish I had a 6-speed and a decent exhaust.

Noob question but are there any downsides to gutting the precats? Will it throw a CEL?

Awesome Video. I love watching the Cattman Pipes jerk as you shift gears. Sounds beautiful. Nice camera position too. Hardly any wind noise on the bumper.

WOW nice video bro nice setup just got my OBX Headers today cant wait to get them installed hope they sound as good as your setup. Quick question when gutting precats or installing headers do you get this (toxic) smell or a harmful smell coming from underneath the car or the exhaust system the reason I ask is b/c me and a friend of mine a while back installed headers on his 94 accord he had a 3'' custom str8 pipe with a apexi exhaust system no precats and it was giving a harmful smell coming from underneath the car until he installed a precat and the smell went away? I hope that doesnt happen to me in my Max. Any answers/help would be great

Do it up nish
It's the slightest bit quieter than headers but it's exactly the sound i was looking for as i didn't want it to loud...so what started out as a temp fix until i got a set of headers..turned into a why bother if i got the sound and a descent power gain...labor...100 bucks.... parts $0 = win

I'm almost positive that my exhaust is going to be a lot louder than yours is.

I'm trying to findout if the 240sx test pipes fit because they look almost identical. They are about the same size flange to flange, 12 3/8". Those ones are super cheap on ebay too.

I've since raised the car but now I've just got an issue with a seized coil.

im not in a competition with anyone to have the loudest exhaust lol.If you want a loud exhaust get yourself an electronic cutout.

Nice vids. You can definitely tell the difference between headers with short runners and long runners. Not that its a bad thing though. Longer runners tend to smooth out the tone more.

If someone in your area has cattman, obx, or hotshot headers, you should mount your camera to their car the same way for a comparison video.

Those are fantastic videos, BTW. Really excellent.

Shifting at 7K... yikes!

I find things a whole lot smoother and more manageable if you shift under the redline. But then, I'm not tuned... and I'm not showing off for the video.

awesome video man...I was expecting it to sound a lot louder in the in-cabin video, but that's a tolerable amount of noise for daily driving. Definitely makes me want to consider doing this

Shoot I don't want it to be louder than it is, but I would do it for the gains and sound like that. Time to find a air chisel at the pawn store.

That's what a cared-for car surface should look like. I expect nothing else, and yet am constantly disappointed after seeing other 5th gens up close and personal.

So +1 for the OP and his crazy shiny bumper.

All exhaust's jerk when you shift at a high rpm its called torque...So i guess that means honda exhaust's dont move then
