I am purchasing a 2K2 automatic maxima and I was wondering what cars I can beat straight from the factory. I'm interested in both from a full stop and a rolling race. I have a friend with a CL-S that talks a lot of $hit abut maximas and I would love to tear him a new one.Any help?

Stock for Stock both auto 2k2 maxi and TL-s should be a good race. Ummmmmmm, ITR, GSR, Accord V6, will be easy. Volvo S70 will be close, Volvo 850R will be close as well,

IS 300 will see Maxi tailights,(and you'll see HID's in your rearview)
I dunno, it's late, anything that runs faster than a 14.7, don't play with unless you got mods, but take tha TL-s owner out to a deserted road, and show him not to phukk with a Maxi.

 

Would a trans mod help me beat more cars, i'm talking something that helps you shift faster through the gears, anything like that available and how hard is it to install or how much would it cost to get done?

 

There is a Valve Body mod(VB mod) that will help quicken and firm up shifts, but this has yet to be discovered on the 2K2's. All it does is replace a small internal part of the tranny which usually costs around 450, plus core, but this is again on the prior to 2k2 models. And is rather easy to install.

There are also torque converters, or stall converter, which your car already has. But aftermakret makes some that are for performance. This will let your engine rev up higher than stock before it engages the engine, thus launching you harder, similar to a manual tranny launch.

But if I were you, I do simple engine bolt on mods i.e. intake, muffler, and while you're doing that, someone will hopefully be producing a VB mod for the 2G5Gen...............my .02
