obx header installed

Got the obx headers installed now I got 3 codes p01137 1138 p00038 I think was the last one. I read that I lose power if my main oxygen sensor is bad and these codes mean that. I would like to ask where do I get o2 sims and how many do I need to clear the codes. Plus now my muffler rattles when I start it up idk if anyone experienced this.

Thanks in advance for all who reply

Actually I'm pretty sure all of the codes you listed are for the secondary O2's that monitor the precats...these will not effect your performance in the least as all they do is check if your precats are keeping the harmful pollutants out of the air. And yes all you need is an O2 sim, you should be able to buy a dual output sim and your problem will be solved...

That's a fair question for Hotshot... particularly since he gave the recommendation, purchased one, but then never actually installed it.

However, the installation instructions on the 3SX website were accurate. I can personally attest to that.

It's possible that rosader has a wiring conflict. Hate to say that, but it's a possibility.

Mine looks exactly like this one here from Puppetmaster's thread:

They are getting harder to find . If I remember correctly the government cracked down on retailers that sold emmission defeating devices.

From an Org member who had it tucked away in a desk drawer for a few years. In other words, I don't think you can buy this anymore.

Or more accurately said: IDK.

Yup.

Go read the Gutting your Precats thread. People are successfully using these extenders to spoof the O2 signal.

So I was cleaning out my car the other day and I came across my Cattman install instructions. Included with the instructions were guidelines for extending your O2 sensors. I did see this paper when I was installing my headers but paid no attention to it (I mean how hard could it be to splice in 3 inches of wire?). Well I read it yesterday and I guess it's a big No-No to splice on the O2 sensor side (which I did). So now I ordered new O2 sensors from Dave B and I will be extending the wires on the harness side this time around.

Yes ,you don't want to use the O2 side . It's shielded wire and if you just use regular wire it may cause problems.

When I installed my Cattmans I extended the harness side and have had no problems in 3.5k miles

Where did you fasten your plugs? Are they just dangling? Do you have pics?

I wish someone made extensions for our cars. If I could find somewhere to buy the male and female plugs, I could easily make some extensions. That way I wouldn't have to cut and splice the harness and to the unassuming eye, everything would appear unaltered as far as the plugs still being clipped to the factory location.

I hope they don't open the hood when I go in for emmisions, it might look odd to see 4 empty clips where the O2 plugs should be. (I will be extending my secondaries also)

Sorry I don't have pictures .
I just wrapped all the wires up with electrical tape so it looks more like stock. I used black zip ties to fasten the wires .
If you know what your looking at the empty clips will definitly stick out just don't take it to a Nissan dealer for inspection lol. My inspection guy doesn't give a crap any way so I don't have to worry.

My suggestion for the secondaries . I left the plugs on the bracket and just tucked the Sensors themselves under the cover in the valley of the intake ( I'm running a O2 sim) . Yes if you poke a flashlight down in the cover you can still see a corner of one O2 sticking out.
If you need pictures I can try to post some later today.

Here are some pictures Hope they help.
I thought I used black zip ties oh well they make the way I routed the wires easier to see lol.

Plugs in stock location

Extended front primary plug

Secondary wires hidden by cover and you can see my sim too

This is with the cover off its harder to see the o2 sensor with the cover on.

Thanks datsun, I don't think I need pics I was just curious
I've already had 2 bungs welded in behind the main cat so I'm going to extend the secondaries and plug them in back there. I prefer that option over sims anyway.

I failed emissions back in July (catalytic converter efficiency below threshold) and the guy there told me "I know that new cats are expensive... there are workarounds, I won't tell you what they are, but If you go that route, just don't tell me" That was before I installed headers.

I don't think he will give me any problems if I take it back to him.

edit: Oh, I see you already posted the pics, Thank You!
