VIAS Vacuum Tank Delete Question

Gotta get that search fixed.......

Anyway.......I'm getting a custom IM made and wanted to know if I do this will I get ANY pending or actual P1800 codes???

I can safely delete the vacuum tank and cap the IM connection from the hose and the connection on the solenoid with NO CODES? Just wanted to make sure BEFORE I do this because here in PA I need to be codeless to pass inspection.

Yes. Basically take off the tank and there are 3 things to be capped. Did this about a month and a half ago or so and no p1800

1) Right on the Intake Manifold next to where the BOP would be.
2 and 3) Right on the solenoid side by side right next to where the connector goes.

Leave the connector connected and cap the three above.
The vacuum tank and hoses connected to it should be able to the be removed.

HaHa. I know where you got that photo.

Just be sure to keep the solenoid plugged in, and you'll be fine. That's the only thing that matters.

The VIAS valve? - Yes. The vacuum tank? - No.

But do it, because it looks dumb just sitting there all useless.

The vacuum tank uses negative pressure properties of a vacuum to provide the energy to activate the butterfly valve in the VIAS. Ironically, it gathers that same vacuum from the intake system itself, and stores it so that the energy can be applied in a constant manner after the ECU triggers the solenoid to open.
