maxed out first gear by accident ... car limps now
you mean the MAF that i got brand new a week ago? lol
if i have no CEL, do i have codes still stored that might show up with emissions testing?
still no CEL for me after doing the ECU reset pedal procedure yesterday... .car seems to be getting a little better with the low idle stumble, but its still there.

i dont think it being dirty is it.
i am in need of new spark plugs ... could be that they are not getting a good spark while that low in the RPM ... i dont have any hesitation or anything that i can tell anywhere above 1k RPM.
I need to check for vacuum leaks too ... since my CEL is still off i'm going to run it through emissions Friday.

you know i was going to inquire about that ...
say i pull up to a redlight ... it will idle ~750 as it should for about 10 seconds or so .. then it drops and does the stumble thing ...
does the ECU go into a different mode or use another sensor for idle? Seems as though its like clockwork ... hit the clutch and the RPM falls to where it should ... then after a set amount of time it will decrease the idle and start to stumble ... regain the idle ... sit for a second or two .. then sometimes fall again ...

well i passed emissions this morning.
obviously the light has never come back on since doing the ECU "pedal" reset trick. Car still idles low and there appear to be a few other "issues" with response and or hesitation, but i havent really nailed that down yet .. still trying to figure out the pattern.
car started idling low while it was hooked up to the emissions equipment and i cringed .. i even saw the screen refer to low RPM or something like that ... but i passed.
i'm going to change the spark plugs out early next year and see if that is causing the low idle (i'm about 9k miles overdue (109,xxx). If it doesnt i'm going to check for vac leaks.
if that still doesnt work i'm going to drop the cash on a true 2k2 MAF ...

check engine light came on again today.
Stopped by advance to have the codes pulled. Two codes this time. One for IAT - P0113 and a random misfire code P0300 ... the car has been idling low and stumbling ever since installing this 2k1/swapped MAF into my car ... idle gets down to sub500 range after a few seconds of sitting at a red light ...
i can only imagine the IAT is causing the other code.
I'm not sure how the intake air temperature sensor can cause my idle to **** itself, but it is. I'm going to just buy a proper MAF. I dont have the time or patience to keep trying to fix this. Thankfully it worked long enough for me to pass emissions and get my tags ...
i've been searching up 22680-AM600 all over google and i've found SEVERAL that are well below 100 bucks online .. they are not OEM obviously, but i'm wondering if its worth messing with?
if you look at the autopart stores online they dont sell the actual OEM either ... thier prices are in the 190-230 range depending on core charges ...
if they are no OEM either, why should i trust them over one i see online for even cheaper?
also .. my production date is 11/01. should i even bother with 22680-AM600? Should i get the previous part number? I assume 22680-AM600 is plug and play? (although i would do the gas pedal ecu relearn procedure again after installation to clear the SES light)

Have you checked to make sure your hoses are all back on properly?
I know it sound stupid, but I had a similar problem IIRC and it turned out to be that I had pinched the hose over and it letting air in behind the MAF.
Just a shot in the dark.

I actually Need to resurrect this to find out what you did with the am600 MAF and if it worked. I have an 02 6spd mfd in 11/01 also. I put in the berk intake and so far I've blown 3 maf's all oem. Part # is 22680-6n20a. Stupid things in limp mode again, after I tried racing my friends civic si to shut him up lol. (not on a public road for all you safety nuts) I think it needs the service bulletin.

But I don't know how to check the ECM p/n without the dealer raping me ...

my issue was with the non factory replacements i'm assuming ... I bought an 01 MAF from ebay for 70 bucks ... it never worked right ... im sure I did the swap correctly, but i think since it wasnt a true factory piece it never would have worked. I ended up snatching another ebay knock off but of the am600 type ... it worked better, but still sucked ...
i ended up getting my ECU flashed by the dealer with the generic am600 in there .. didnt fix the issue ... after that i got fed up and bought a junk yard am600 (it came out of an infiniti) ... havent had an issue sense ...
if you have an 11/01 i assume you'll need to get the flash from the dealer, but honestly i dont know if it really does anything or doesnt ..

i went to dealerdirectparts.com and bought a brand new 22680-6n20a for $450 which worked perfectly until it blew about a month ago. they replaced it under warranty and the new one blew today. so if the am600 worked for you ill email them now and see if theyll exchange it for that one... you may have saved me a couple hundred at the dealer for them to tell me that too lol so thanks for the quick response
good luck man .. this problem nagged me for months.
my daily commute to work is like 8 miles round trip so i let this problem go for way longer than i should have ...
i've had the junk yard MAF in there for a few months now ... not a single problem since ...

yeh its been about 6 months for me so far. I was trying to avoid paying dealer fees, i even got one of the nissan mechanics to talk to me but he knew nothing about it and no other mechanic could figure it out... the worst part is with the ebay knockoffs it would stall out at every light so thank you sooo much.
