But I see your point now and agree, you weren't clear before.

CMax is 100% correct that a 3.5L will usually make better power with a SRI. Maxima King also has a point concerning low end loss on a 3.0L. TunerMaxima has discussed this since he's got cars with both engines. Bottom line; The engines have different power characteristics, all things being equal. 3.0L with ~10mm shorter stroke suffers on low end torque, but has good high RPM performance. 3.5 is the opposite, great low end but suffers at high RPM. The reason; 3.0L smaller displacement/stroke uses less air and isn't affected like a 3.5L from high RPM restriction. To help the 3.0L bottom end torque, long tube works well, to help the 3.5L high RPM breathing, short tube works well.

You guys should move this discussion to this thread; http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...i-rethink.html

Anyway: By now, I forgot if you posted any sound files. Like to hear the 2.5" BRM compared to my SR*S.

I'm not gonna say that the VQ35DE doesn't breathe up top...I'm just saying that the Injen Intake was too long @ 39" and was bogging my combination.....Try the Injen it might work for that VQ30DE-K (OP) I liked the Intake with the stock exhaust system but with a 2.5" Cattman, the 2.5" Cattman bpipe and stock rear Muffler, and my 3" it became a restriction on the intakeand I sold it!

No Argument, from what I've read the 3.5L breathes better than the 3.0L. That said, it's just an explanation of how a 3.5L suffers more losses from intake restriction than a 3.0L. Relative to the optimal breathing capabilities of both engines. In short, most long tube setups tend to choke a 3.5L at high RPM.

This thread is an affront all of the great research done on this topic over the last ~3-4 years. Are you people too stupid to have even looked at any of the threads? Now if the OP just wants a 2.5" because he cant afford the 3" that's fine, but idiotic comments about how the 3" makes no gains until boosted at 14psi couldn't be more uninformed.

OP have you installed it yet? Do you like it? Did the install go smooth? My Stillen muffler is shot so I was planning on going with the 3" myself.

Yeah it's kinda wierd once these BRM guys install thier exhaust system you hear nothing about it.....no praises, no complaints, no feedback too the ORG whatsoever......You, I, many others regardless have let the ORG know about our thoughts and Praises of Cattman's exhaust products.....I just thought I would throw this out there to those BRM junkies!
