sweeet dude. How's the on/off delay? I'd want to use this for my signal lights, think it'd work, or too slow?

Go to this site to look up and part numbers you need for any maxima up to a 2007 model: http://nissan4u.com. For the master switch you will need 5 LEDs for the passenger side you will need two LEDs and for the rear switches you will need two LED. For the climate control you will need three LEDs. I'd recommend using metal film resistors 1/8(1/6) Watt power handling rating at 560 OHM for blue, white and green LEDs or 680 OHM for Red, Yellow, amber and orange LED.

The master switch is already wired for LEDs so you do not need new ones. However, the rear switches need one each I already explained what you are looking for specs wise in my last post. Also, if you are looking for resistors you are not really looking for part number per se. Unless you know which brand you are looking for. It is all about type, power rating and OHMs. Keep in mind the bigger the power rating 1/8, 1/4, 1 Watt etc. the bigger the resistor, the lower the power rating the less power it can handle before blowing out.

I posted this in the I30/I35 section, but thought there would be more traffic here if anyone has the answer I'm looking for. I'm replacing my interior bulbs (not being so ambitious as to take apart the cluster or HVAC controls), but I cannot find what kind bulb goes in the vanity lights for the visor mirrors. I have the dome, courtesy, trunk, and license plate lights changed, with a bulb for the map lights on the way. If anyone knows what kind of bulb I need for those vanity lights, I'd appreciate it!

Is there any specific name for that type of bulb? I've been ordering everything off eBay (and my friend has been getting all of his LEDs off there for a while)

F30, 6614, D29mm is some of the size names they go by. But usually if you are search for it most places just call is a 29mm Vanity mirror LED or 29mm Fuse type LED.

Thanks! Wished Sylvania or even the owner's manual had that listed. That way I could have ordered these sooner!

hey guys, dont kill me this is the newest thread I could find on the topic of leds, and I can't find the answer I'm looking for, although from searching I'm definitely swapping out the bulbs in the gauges for cool white leds from superbrightleds.com. but before I checkout I also wanted to get the keyring led so I can change that to blue, and the light that shines down from the center onto the shifter in a 6MT. cant find the name of either of those leds if any of you guys can help me out on that. Thanks alot in advance. I didn't think a simple question like this would warrant my making a whole new thread for.

The xhp3 that you're getting for the Gauge is the same one you want for:

Glove box
Light over shifter
Key Ring

They're all the same

Yup. You know that for the Gauges on your 2002, you need 2 for illumination and 1 for each LCD screen, right? Keep that in mind when picking colour.s

Nah BA9 is those twist and lock style.

FESTOON is the style you need. They look like a little fuse. They're designated by Size.

This should get you rolling, though I have no idea what those are like.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...d-festoon/243/

A word of warning about Vanity LED's. They look incredible, but if you actually USE them for the intended purpose, LED's suck. The light output is not proper for the application. But if it's simply for looks, give-er, I have some 3 chip ones in mine, they're too blinding for actual use though, and even once you adjust to how bright they are, they're almost useless for actually peeping yourself.

he asked about map lights, which are the BA9 socket.

Although what you said re: vanity lights is 100% true

DO'H!!!!

Good catch Amerikaner, I have no idea how I spaced out to Vanity Light from MAP light......

If it's not obvious, yes, I recall the MAP light is the BA9 style. Though I'd be shocked to see a simple PnP bulb style do anything near what a Board does in there.

The boards are universal, but you do sometimes need to rig them a little to work if you get a larger one than the normal little 2x3 ones. Which, BTW, are more than sufficient if you have 2 MAP lights.

If you only have 1 MAP light, consider getting a 3x3 or slightly larger Board.

As always, the QUALITY of the board/LED's is WAAAAAY more important than the number of LED's on it.

ABSOLUTELY

The BEST and BRIGHTEST are the "5050" SMD LEDs...they're 3 actual LED emitters per chip, so each 5050 LED is like 3 regular SMD LEDs.

regular LED array:

5050 SMD LED array:

The 5050 SMD are brighter and better than the regular SMD arrays...but they do tend to cost a bit more.

If you have a sunroof, you have one map light, so a 3x3 or 4x3 array with a BA9 socket works well (reverse the polarity of the connector, so instead of red---red and black--black, it's red---black to red---black. The Maxima map lights are reverse polarity for some reason...which matters with LEDs but does not matter with the regular incandescents.

Are you looking only for the map lights, or also some for the doors, dome, trunk, and license plate? I am in the process of creating kits that have all that, made of the high power 5050 SMD LED arrays...

Sunroof AND TWO map lights? wow, didn't know the 5.5 did that

2x 9SMD 5050 panels with the BA9 socket would do you well
