6TH gen header installed

Hay all. Finally got my headers installed on my 6th gen aus maxima. I removed the fans and radiator, intake plenum. That's all anyone will ever need to remove to fit headers on Maximus. No need to remove cross member. Had a couple of hickups along the way. Front engine mount bolt hitting exhaust grinded that away. The standard header bolts werent screwing in cause they were hitting the welds around the ports so I end up getting different bolts. One bolt seized and end up grinding the exhaust away. Other than that the job would of only taken a day but with the couple off problems it took a day and a half. Put everything back together. Car ran slightly rough at the start but end up running smooth. First drive of the car noticed a big gain in power especially in the top end. The car used to rev to 6500rpm on full throttle now neally revs to 7000rpm with the headers. I end up extending the primary 02 sensors. I was planing on putting a cat in we're the y-pipe is and extend the 02 sensors after it but I won't have to I'm getting no error codes on all the 02 sensors even the secondary's witch have no cats running before them witch is weird has anyone had no error codes? Other than that a great install and very happy now I just have to replace the stock catback. I'll post pics up soon. Cheers Kurt.

Just in case if you weren't aware of this, but this is the 5th gen section, not the 6th gen section.

Understood. I agree, the 6th gen section is quite lame!

The rear header is still a pain in the *** no matter what gen Maxima. Congrats on the install.

What brand did you end up going with? OBX?

Cattman sold them to me. Cause my cars an aus spec maxima the headers are slightly different. The headers were made in new Zealand they are a good design very similar to cattmans.

Yes it is. But I wouldn't trade it for nothing. Well maybe a GT-R...

I still got my stock catback exhaust on my car with these headers. I'll be upgrading to a 3inch mandrel bent catback on Friday. Will I see a gain out off this catback.? The standard catback looks extremely restrictive.

Single outlet I'm assuming.

Post pics mang.

We welcome you to the 5g forum. The 6g can be quiet, but I'm sure that's because you have your own 6th gen forum.

Either way, your pics are welcome.

Cheers mate. I'll post pics off my
Headers and catback I've recently done yesterday today sometime or tomorrow. It's a sleeper 3inch setup. Sounds king.
