Unique ABS SLIP TCS lights problem driving me nuts
A few months ago, the ABS, Slip, and TCS lights came on in my 2001 Nissan Maxima. I've been driving with the lights on and I have absolutely no other problems. Now I am ready to sell the car so decided to tackle the problem so I could clear the lights. I did A LOT of searching on this site and other sites. The problem I have is different than all the others I have come across in old posts.
I checked the fuses, and they were all fine. I used an OBD II reader and didn't get any codes using that (I'm not getting the SES light). So I found a post talking about pulling ABS codes by grounding pin 9. As instructions and posts said, I grounded pin 9 on the OBD connector and it spit out code 31 (right rear ABS sensor). I bought a brand new OEM sensor and replaced the old one with the new one. I also took the negative terminal off the battery for an hour so the ECU would reset. I figured I needed to clear the code after putting in the new sensor. I finally get it all done, start the car, and the lights are still lit up. I was not happy at all. So I drove the car around, and the lights are still there.
So I decide to check the codes again. Now I am getting code 31 and 35 (left rear sensor)! This doesn't make ANY sense because I just put in a new sensor for the right and it's STILL giving that code; and now it's giving a code for the left rear ABS sensor also (which it wasn't before). At this point, I'm confused as hell. I don't want to buy a new rear left sensor b/c that may not be the problem at all. And I don't see why it would still be throwing the code for the right rear ABS sensor if I just replaced it with a brand new one.
I read some posts talking about replacing coils but I read some conflicting posts about that. I am not getting an SES light so I didn't think it could be the coils. I've been trying to tackle this for 3 weeks and am now getting really pissed off. Can anyone recommend what I should try next? I would appreciate any help at all because I'm not sure what to try next. Thanks.

update: I drove the car around again and tried reading the codes again and this time I got only code 35 (left rear sensor). I'm really not sure why the codes are coming and going. I may just have to bite the bullet and do the left rear sensor unless anyone has any ideas?

I have a 2000 se auto I had a similar problem TCS, ABS and engine lights were on and it was my coil pack. what I was told was that when the car misses the TCS thinks the car is slipping and it throws eveything out of wack. don't know if your having the same problem GL...

yes all 3 lights are on immediately as soon you start the car and have been there for months now
I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary, unless I missed something

Update for anyone else in the future who may come across a problem like this:
I finally replaced the left rear sensor since that was the only code coming up. I reset the battery, and started the car up. The lights are finally gone! Success! So in the end, it was just the sensors, and not something else.
