i just picked up this maxima and thought it just had an aftermarket muffler cause it sounded a little loud but good.i climbed under the car cause i had a rattling noise when i hit bumps.i started moving the muffler around and thats when i saw the pipe was separated right at the 2 bolt flange.it didnt rot off,it looks like the weld came loose cause the entire collar and everything is there.it just popped off the flange.any way to fix this?can i cut the flange off the muffler side and put a sleeve over it?any help would be great

My car had the same problem and I got it fixed today.
The muffler shop cut the two ends of the joint, put a connecting pipe, and welded it together. Paid a total of $60.
You could have exhaust shop weld the flange back to the pipe.
