There's an old adage; Three subjects that should never be discussed in a public forum are Politics, Religion & Sex.

Meh. Minor problem compared to your car cover snafu. Which, BTW, I missed how that ended up. Or are you still waiting for an answer from Nissan on coverage (no pun).
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

'Roch' Try going under the back of the car w/a can of CRC silicone spray & squirt everything that moves (NOT THE BRAKES). The noise could just be something dry & it'll be a semi permanent fix. If it doesn't then it's more involved. No harm no foul. When I first got the car, my rear suspension was squeaking like no tomorrow. Silicone squirted all the bushings/struts/mounts = gone & never came back.

That sounds like a good idea. What about using a graphite spray?

That could work too. But since it's actually a powder might wash out over time. Silicone spray polymer is a thin liquid @ ambient temps, & migrates into small areas on a molecular level. It's not water soluable & once attached to something difficult to remove completely. Works great to speed up slow windows too. Just don't get it on exposed plastic, the spray solvent will cloud it.

Ok that makes sense. I've used silicone spray before and it works well with squeaks. I've used graphite on door locks with cars and the house. It's amazing how a little graphite makes an old sticky dead bolt lock work like new again.
