So I don't know. Maybe I should just stop thinking engine for now and get the supercharger stuff first? Then see how it plays out on the car and if it's rough I'll start looking for an engine?

I just doubt I'll ever find a deal like this again. Also, it seems my co-worker will be doing Top fuel dragsters in Flordia very soon, and could probably pick this engien up for me. Hence, price would only be around $1900.... maybe $2100 once I pay a few bucks around to say thank yous.
Get that built engine buy parts and build up current engine when done and satisfied swap engines this way youll have everything set up and tuned ready to go then slowly build up orignal engine to monster power

Great idea. You have the motivation, the skills, and the disposable income to take this project on. However, you're missing one thing... a garage.

How are you going to take this on without a garage?

Looking for something a little less risky for the Fire Season, or is the new wife urging you to buy a house "together", instead of moving in to the house she married?

I think the knock sensor pigtail is classified as a subharness too but I'm pretty sure I can use my dek one.

We bought the current house 4 years ago. Been together 9 years.

City where we want to move has mansions, (relatively speaking) for far less than what we paid for our house.

Just got back from the local vinyl shop. There's a visual mod in the works for the G next week when I'm having the lower rear bumper vinyl wrapped in dark gray. Been slowly working towards this idea for some time, and it's going to happen next week.

Pics when it happens, if only so Hustler can say how much he hates it.

I see. After all your scares with fires, I thought maybe that was it.

Big city homes FTW. I love old houses.

No fire danger here. Not enough trees, I thought I was clear on that last year? Only in the mountains above 7000' ... I'm @ 5500.

Seems weird it was never occupied for that long, I'm sure you would anyways, but make sure you get an inspection first.

, this deal is far from being final, and in fact probably wont even get that particular house .... but the general price and size of house are what make buying in this other town a cooler option.

Just the drive will SUCK!

Currently I drive 27 miles to and 27 miles from. New joint is like 75-80 one way.

Hence my ? for aack .... Needs 6MT with taller 6th for moar MPGees.

And still fun.

Can;t be taking the Genesis, too many miles. Nor the Maxi because racecaw ... And FFS the pathfinder, 14-16 MPG..

150 mile round trip could be 2.5 hours a day in the car. I suppose it's do-able, if it's straight highway at highway speeds. Either way, that's a pretty serious consideration you're taking on, Manny. Good luck, whatever you choose.

Imagine paying more in heating costs than your actual mortgage. Still worth it, though, because Character > Plastic doors, IMO.

I agree with your logic, if you boost the stock engine & it turns out not so good you're without the G until you replace it. Which would have to be a rush job. Vs. A known good engine you can buy for cheap money & take the time to build properly so it will last. My ONLY point of contention is favoring a positive displacement blower setup for a reliable DD power-plant. Yes, more intensive/expensive but worth it in the long run since you plan to keep the car. I don't know if you saw the tech piece I quoted RE: the different types of blowers but here it is again. To explain my logic behind not going with a centrifugal blower. http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...ml#post8512147

I'd be willing to drive 2 hours over OPEN roads, as opposed to half an hour sitting in traffic at 10KM/H
