Twenty years ago, I had a friend in Florida with a Pearl White SC400, and I was so-o-o-o in love with that car. Of course, this was 1992, and I didn't have the funds for a Lexus. But I did have the funds for a Nissan 240SX, in which you can see the stylistic similarities between those cars (if you squint real hard, LOL)

The SC was the first Japanese Car that won me over. It still turns my head when I see it.

And breaks my heart when I see it driven by a kid as rusty trash.
The SC's and the 90's Acura Legend coupes. Can you say Type II and a 6-speed? Or better yet, can the Type II and replace with a 3.5RL and a 6-speed.

Yep the h.o. version came in the Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais and was called the Quad 442 W-41 package, which also included a Getrag 5 speed and 3.94 gears.

Don't you find it a little bit ironic that you are mocking me for having too many chemicals in my system? I mean, you're a walking, talking (b1tching) apothecary.

It's a miracle you're even alive, you freak. How much food did you consume today?

And again

I'm guessing the only reason there was a Getrag 5-speed in that car was because Borg-Warner couldn't stop laughing when they were first approached.

My *97 Grand Am SE coupe had the follow-up 2.4L, was not all that powerful, especially in comparison with the max. HOWEVER, I couldn't help but notice the "feel" behind the wheel of the Pontiac was a bit nicer, felt a bit more connected to the road. Perhaps it was the slightly smaller steering wheel...or the lack of a 4x4 suspension...but it was a stark contrast when I first got the max.

I sold the GrandAm before I got any of my "mods" (FSTB/RSB) so I couldn't get a good comparo with driving feel afterwards...but I still think the max's steering wheel is a bit too big

The SCCA had a Showroom Stock class that these cars competed in. The W41 engine was actually developed just for that.

There were a few versions of the Quad 4 over the years, with the Oldsmobile W41 being the most powerful @190 hp. Quite an impressive number for a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder built over 20 years ago.

The only n/a 4cyl I can think of built during that time period was the Porsche 944S2 3.0L and it was rated a little over 200 hp.

Hmm. You seem to know a lot about these cars. While I remember them (because I was there since I'm old), I don't recall the details like you do. All I hear is 20 year old 4-cyl from Oldsmobile.

But you're right... 190 hp NA is impressive for back then.

Dirty? No, not at all, since you're just making stuff up about me, whereas you yourself actually have very real and very serious physiological issues... which, by the way, explains your somewhat aberrant psychological issues.

Personally, I hope you find an actual sense of humor, and some peace of mind, before you die from pasta poisoning.

My brother had the h.o. Quad4 in an Olds Achieva SC. The car was surprisingly quick which wasn't necessarily a good thing. The suspension was way too flighty to be couple with that engine and a 5spd.

I'd bet his last job was network phone support for Dell. Lots of those 'dots' carry a lot of paper but not much smarts.

I was very intrigued by cars when I was a kid in the 80's and a teen in the 90's, so I soaked up alot of information. My uncle did alot of autocrossing and had an SCCA racing license, so I tagged along to quite a few track events.
