Invitation to free entertainment, adult beverages, and showing off your driving skills in someone else's car? Sounds like a friend.

This is messed up. We should worry about doling out the hard sentences to repeat offenders before we go completely off the rails for a first time offense. I'm not saying release him, but life? C'mon.

gooood lord... 162yrs for a 1st time offence???... he would actually be better off just shooting n killing somebody..... its crazy because if you do drugs or even attempt to steal $$$ from the feds or the state, your punishment is often times worse than murder (1st degree) lol.... that is in fact cruel n unusual punishment.... gaaawd damn

There's a law here in Florida called 10-20-Life. Discharging a firearm during a crime alone is 20 years. It's a minimum of 10 years just possessing a firearm for a felony or attempted felony crime. This applies whether you're a first offender or not. You cannot legally carry, own, or purchase a handgun or handgun ammunition here unless you're 21, and he was 18, so the time just racked up for him. The laws here for violent crimes, armed robbery, etc. are strict. Looks like he got the maximum amount of time for each crime he was convicted of.

still... often times crap like that isnt as blk n white... just like u see on CSI os SVU, they will look into mental records, age of others n a whole bunch of crap vs just stacking the maximum on a 1st time offender teenager... i get what ur saying after 20 is life ther... but 162yrs... at that point they might as well sentence dude to death.... save the $$$.... talk about no future.... way to harsh... even if " stacking" plus he had no plea

Yeah the laws for felonies here are strict. Florida had some of the highest felony crime rates in the country, and the new laws were passed to combat them. Since then, the violent crime rate is down over 30%, and the index crime rate is at it's lowest in 35 years.

With the minimum sentencing of 10-20-life, it has also dramatically reduced the number of repeat violent felony offenders as well.

So if you do something stupid, and you get caught, whether you're a first offender or not, you're going to do the time if it's a felony. The law passed with an overwhelming majority and since it's inception no one has tried to repeal it.

Yep, Florida doesn't play when it comes to those types of laws.

i think 162yrs is as harsh as a death sentence... my personal opinion... im sure there is ways to be strict n getting a msg across vs "break the law.... die" type rule

A woman here recently got a 20 year minimum sentence because she claimed to have fired a "warning shot" at someone, but in fact she aimed the gun at the person, but missed. The bullet went into the wall a foot or so from the person she was having a conflict with. It was also her first offense, but because she did the crime, she's going to do the time.

Actually dtv is a pure digital signal and is downconverted the native incoming signal is 3000mhz interlaced then downconverted to analog 250mhz-900mhz and 950mhz-2160mhz for HD playback

Easy. It's all in the trajectory. If you're standing in one spot, and the bullet travels in a path. From where she was standing, to where the bullet struck, and the angle of the path of the bullet, and also witnesses that were present.

Interlaced scan vs. progressive scan. 1080i is interlaced, 1080p is progressive. Earlier hdtv's were interlaced. Newer and present hdtv's are all progressive. Progressive scans produce a better picture, and also scan much faster than interlaced.

Well, hospitality perhaps. Friendship is earned.

But since he thinks I'm a pedo for offering hospitality to a narcissistic, 25 year old Jamaican man, perhaps the offer should be rescinded.

Yea but my argument would be that it was a warning shot, I shot at a random wall... The Theif was on the 2nd floor... No way to tell

It doesn't work that way. If you point a gun, or any other weapon at someone, that's intent, not a warning.

Because that's what the law says, and that's what the prosecution uses in court.

If you fire a gun up in the air as a warning, you get charged for a mistemeanor crime of discharging a firearm. If you point it at someone and discharge it, and that's a felony intent to use a deadly weapon, or it can be worse and be attempted murder.

The worst part about that kids' sentence isn't the sentencing alone. The fact that other criminals can throw you under the bus for a lesser plea is ridiculous. No, it's asinine! It really, really makes me angry. The testimony wasn't even corroborated. Alleged criminal's words believed at face value over another alleged criminal because they were the first to open their mouth to be a snitch? No way! Lazy prosecutors and a disgustingly over-burdened judicial system steamroll individuals all day for the sake of convenience. BS!

Sometime this month, I'm going to get the center of my front grille painted gloss black, to mimic the OEM Midnight Grille. And sometime in the next few years, I'm planning on a Stillen Gen-3 long-tube air intake mod.

For both those reasons, I need to become familiar with disassembling the front grille. Kind of a PITA the first time you do it. All kinds of plastic retainer clips, bolts and nuts, tabs and wire clips, as well as a very particular approach to push, lift, pull, etc. bs bs bs... But I finally got it.

Now I've got to put it back.

And holy crap it's hot outside!

Ha! Yes, yes it is. "Golf with your Friends" is the caption. It's back-framed and mounted on Masonite.

Somehow that ended up in my office. Right around the time my GF (wife) moved in about 15 years ago.

Grille is back on the car. Knuckles are scraped. But I bet I could do it again in 3 minutes.

General rule: If your knuckles aren't scraped when your hood is open, someone else was working on your car.

I've watched the Three Stooges ever since I can remember. I liked Shemp too, but I'm not sure on the history of that. Never got around to Googling it.
