Kia and Hyundai have come a long way, but still have a long way to go. Their quality control and fit and finish are sub-par at best. If they are truly going to be on the same level as Toyota and Honda as examples, they're gonna need to step up and build that quality reputation.

I was taught coming up that you don't discuss your salary, and you don't discuss the value of your home or car. It can come up from time to time, but as a general rule you don't advertise it. Pretty tacky.

That's fine, but features don't really mean anything. Those cars aren't gonna be worth squat 5 years from now. And as far as the Genesis goes, Hyundai went all in and pushed all their chips onto the table with that. Time will tell how well those cars will hold up, and if they don't deliver, their sales will drop and they'll take a big hit. I predict that you'll be able to pick up a Genesis coupe at a used car lot 8-10 years from now for just a few grand. Why? Hyundai's quality control. Paint will peel, they'll be plagued with squeaks and rattles form poorly fitted interior trim panels, cheap trim pieces will be broken, oil will be leaking, and so on. Every Hyundai ends up like this, and as i've said, I'm willing to bet the Genesis will end up suffering they typical Hyundai fate of it being a car that just doesn't hold up over the long term. But who knows... enough time hasn't passed yet. Maybe Hyundai won't have those problems since they've invested alot of money into their Genesis, so maybe they won't be so bad. Stay tuned...

Whoever thought up the idea of non-alcoholic beer had to have been drunk outta their mind! That's like some pot without the THC.

I don't know anything about Obx headers so I can't really comment on that.

One thing about my Maxima is that it's the first Japanese car i've ever bought and owned. I think i've made a good choice, and I also got the car for dirt cheap, too... and that was a major selling point for it. I already had a car and I bought the Max for secondary backup transportation. I had a 99 Grand Prix GTP coupe that I was modding, and I put alot of work into it and it was starting to get pretty quick. I was about to make a couple of big performance mod purchases for it until it got hit when an 18 year old girl ran a red light and totaled it out.

Have u drivin the genesis? Ur not giving n opinion on the headers because of lack of experience so i guess its safe to say u have some bad experience on the newer recision of the genesis?

While i love my dek and maximas in general, my fanboy days are long gone... While i may hang on to this dek for a looong time i gotta say im liking a lot of cars outside the nissan family... Well i still like the G35/37 sedan but i find myself preferring the all the other cars in the maxima category over the maxima lol

The car actually looked really good, even to you gues standards... He was lowered, id say slammed, wheels with nice size tires on em and pretty much flush, then came the exhaust... And thats the easiest way to wreck a car that i like... Looked like a single N1 catback

The newer Genesis? It's only been out for a couple of years. Did they make significant changes in the Genesis model line in the last 2 years since it came out or am I missing something here?

Meant to say hyundai.... I cant backspace n erase words thanks to the dumbest softawre update on my phone... But other than the new 5.0 r spec the body stays the same... I def like the genesis n warranty over 80% the cars in its class... I only like the 5 series bimmer more because of the 6mt, same fir the G but other than that, the genesis is on point, the inside is great, the look is beautiful, and the gas on the v6 is extremely impressive granted if i buy it will be the 4.6 lol... I like it more than the IS and GS

I can understand the op's excitement of sloshing through the down economy and coming out ahead and making it big, and him wanting to post up his nice house and cars. I give him a thumbs up for being so successful. However, Merlyn got a major case of butthurt and he paid for it. Jealousy is not a good quality to have, especially when you blurt it all out on a car forum. Was the OP a bit vain in showing off? Perhaps he was when he made out a list of how much everything cost. It came off as a bit douchy. Now, if he posted up his house and cars without mentioning the cost, it would have probably been a different story. There isn't anything classy in bragging about how much you paid for something.

The big concern I have is that their V8 is their first in-house design. They went to the Germans to source the ZF transmission for it. Time will tell how well their first V8 design holds up. Hyundai's engine designs over the years have been hit and miss. Their 2.4 4cyl engines are notorious timing belt snappers. The 2.5 V6 they used to have is the complete opposite and gets high ratings for reliability.

yea that was when hyundai was just bottom line and nothing to get... since they came back out with better built/"quality" cars they have been legit.. im sorry im 100% sold on the genesis... i trust them until i hear otherwise... maybe nissan shoulda went somewhere like............. in their friggin factory for a manual trans... granted the genesis doesnt come 6mt that was more expected than the nissan, im 100% never buying a maxima over whenever they stopped making the manuals for 6th gens.. i personaly think the genesis is a better built car over the maxima, just me... like you wait to see problems on the genesis i wait to see CVT failure on the 7th gens n all CVT's

I totally agree with 95% of this post, I think of what put Merlin over the edge is when a someone came out of no were and attacked merlin for speaking his mind . And merlin did have some truth to what he said about the dude bragging about what he got in detail... it should have just been locked and I think merlin was wrong fully banned . ... I think when I sober up I'm going to write a nice letter to the higher UP's
