OK so searching around & updating my Adobe Reader *this is a MUST for a better view of the pdf* I found out that "BT" means body & trim...the removal of the dash instructions are in here starting at page 28...I was hoping there would be pictures so I can understand it much better but I guess when I pick my shell up this will be the first project I do & make a sticky for it....*Hopefully someone else saves me the trouble & do it first* lol

Check this thread: Odd A/C Problem there's no write-up but you can see what is involved wiht the dash removal.
there's also a thread by dennismik where he removed the dash. Yes I know these were 4th gen threads but I have found all the engineering is the same.
Essentially, you have fasteners on both sides of the footwells, 4 in the center cluster and 2 in the dash. You will need to remove the center console to get the dash completely out. Be sure to pull the neg side of the battery for at least 20 minutes before dealing with the air bag above the glove compartment.

I removed the dash on my 97 4th gen and did a writeup. I also have a 2000 5th gen and have looked at it a little bit to try and compare it to the 97. There definitely are differences but I consider them to be small. The glove box is held in a little different, so is the radio and the panel under the steering column.
If you are interested, here is the link to the thread I made.
