In need of serious help!

Whats going on guys, I've had a problem with my 2001 Maxima not wanting to start right way and taking a couple of turns of the key, since I had the clutch replace back in December. But now for the past 3 weeks it wont start at all and I cant figure out what is going on...I've replaced the crank and cam sensors, spark plugs, and even went to the extent of replacing the coil packs, and still I'm at a dead end. The car will start to crank but it wont full turn over and start. If anyone has any idea what could be the problem I would greatly appreciate it.
p.s. the mechanic which has had my car is now wanting to say that it could due to something with the key...has anyone ever heard of that?

Sounds like the battery, starter, or a wire not getting juice to the starter...

I recently had to replace my sat? antenna.. it fails to read the key chip but, my security light was solid.. If ur security light is solid, then id say is.a security issue, if its not it could be a numorous amount of things like, ign. switch, start signal fuse, fuel delivery and the list goes on...

The only codes that it is throwing is for a knock sensor and misfire on cylinder 6...so i replaced the knock senor. But i checked the coil pack after i replaced the spark plugs and everything was fine. But the stater and the battery have been replaced within the last year.

Where'd you get the starter & battery? My brother had his starter replaced, only to have it go out again about a month later. I have also read about batteries going out very quickly. Best to have them checked.

Both from advance auto parts. The starter is some random brand, but the battery is a optima red top

According to the mechanic, he checked the wiring harness and said it was ok. To me you only need three basic things, fuel, air, and spark to make it start. After the Knock Sensor was replaced, the car struggled to start, and now it wont start at all. The Coil Packs have proper resistance, so they all check out. This guy is wanting to start swapping parts, which I simply cannot afford. Is there anyone out there that might be able to point me in the right direction? Possibly a list of this, then this, and then this. I am getting desperate!

Yea I've replaced the crank sensor, both of the cam senors, spark plugs, checked the resistance on the coil packs (all have grey dots) and have checked the wiring harness for any breaks, but none...I'm running out of options here...

Why did ur mechanic suspect it being the key?
You say it cranks all day but doesnt fire up?
have u checked resistance on ur new knock sensor to make sure it didnt crap out? do u hear your fuel pump prime when key is turned to on? Has fuel pressure been checked when its being fired up because its a different psi from when running. how about start signal fuse? Ecm pulled out to check for burnt chips? old 305's etc go by the rule of gas, spark, air. Unfortunatley nowadays motors are controled by computers which run off sensors...
