Nissan Quest forums

Hey guys,

I don't post often here, but I read the site just about every night and have found so much useful information on here. Thank you for sharing all that you do. I'm thinking about the possibility of getting a Nissan Quest (the 2004-2009 version) and am wondering if any of you know of a similar forum for the Quest like maxima.org (of course it'd never be as good, but something close would work). I'm just trying to get the inside story of the Quest, things to look out for, years to avoid, etc...before I make a purchase (which is probably 6 months away).

I'm really just looking for reliability issues - like how some of the 5.5 gens are oil burners. Since the Quest's use the same 3.5 engine, do they suffer from the same problems? Or were they made late enough that they figured out/fixed the problems by then?

Thanks for any advice and suggestions.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that the '05 Quest was a lemon year.

That seems to be a bad year for Nissan in general. A LOT of issues out of cars from '05. Maximas, Altimas and G35 coupes all had various issues.

All (transverse mounted) Nissan 3.5 engines for the years you mentioned were produced in the Decherd, TN plant. So they all (engines at least) have the same issue. Timing chains being the primary issue.

Thanks for the information. I know this isn't the place to discuss this but it seems to me that the Quest is the best out of all minivans of that era. Like I said I probably won't buy for another six months or so but I like to be prepared and know what I'm looking for ahead of time. Thanks again.

Check out NICO (Nissan Infiniti Car Owners). They're probably your best bet as they're the biggest Nissan/Infiniti resource and forum on the internet.

Very helpful, regardless of what you drive. Everyone is really cool over there.

You'll probably see me on there as well. I use the same username and am pretty active. Good friends with the CEO too.
