Intake question...

What up, i have a question about an intake for my '01 i30... I had an intake on my old '94 civic and i loved it, i noticed some extra power, and i liked the sound of it too. I am wondering if anything bad will happen from me installing the Stillen Intake on my i30... will I get check engine lights?? Will i have to reset the ecu, and if i do, will it screw up the radio/etc? I really dont wanna break anything here... Will and intake damage a new engine like i have, its got about 12K miles on it... cany any other problems occur from an intake?? Thanks for all your help...

If the intake fits it will be fine. Make sure there are no leaks and the filter is in good shape.

Problems with intakes. The engine can suck up stuff if the filter is in bad shape. Other than that it can't cause any real problems. You can reset the ecu if you want but its not necessary. You might get a check engine light if there is a leak in the system

Just make sure you hook up everything that you disconnect. good luck!

I just installed a STILLEN intake on my car yesterday(I have a 2000 MAX SE). I was concerned just like you about having the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT come on or other problems that may arise after the install. The install was not as easy as I thought it would be. The stock air box was a pain to take off.Be careful with the MAF sensor. I did not remove it during the install. Do not bang it around because it can get damaged. Thats usually when the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES on. If it is disconnected and not reconnected correctly, you will have problems. Also, before you start, disconnect the NEGATIVE side if your battery.......Good Luck!!!!!
