Pulled a P0110, Air Intake Sensor code, would cleaning the MAF help?

I plugged a OBDII in and pulled a P0110 code. Would cleaning the MAF do the trick?

I tried to clean the MAF, however, I couldn't take out the socket, I pushed the clip and pulled upwards, however, it wouldn't come off. Later on, I tried to unscrew the torx screws, but they were rusted and didnt even budge.

Towards the end, I also saw that [see pic below] was disconnected, so i put it back and duct taped it so it wont come off again.

Any ideas how to fix the p0110 issue? Air intake sensor...

thanks

P.S These pics were taken from the DIY clean MAF thread, I just added the txt according to my scenario.

P0110 is the Air Intake Sensor, just like you said. The Air Intake sensor is not the MAF. So everything you have been doing so far is not going to fix your problem.

Why don't you download the FSM (Factory Service Manual) and look up Code P0110 in section EC, engine control. It is page 169 for my year car, but each year is a little different. The index at the beginning of the EC section lists the P code numbers.

Dennis is right your trying to clean the wrong sensor. I doubt cleaning it that IAT sensor will fix it though, its only 28 bucks and takes less than 5 minutes to change. Those are two different connectors you are looking at. the MAF connect is much wider than the IAT sensor connector. The IAT sensor is located on the stock snorkel that attaches to the air box(just left of the positive battery terminal if your facing the car). http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/se...000&vi=1359222 That is what it looks like, but you will only see the top part of it where the connector goes. good luck

The MAF cleaner won't get rid of the codes if it's already defective. Buy a new one and save yourself the trouble

The IAT is piggybacked on the MAF on the 5.5 Gen, whereas it's a separate harness entirely on the 5.0 gen. Don't know what the OP is driving, but just saying... different cars, different design.

Spray a little penetrating oil around those torx head bolts overnight. The next day, try tightening them a little bit before trying to loosen them.

Would dousing the sensor with MAF Cleaner help? Couldn't hurt.

I'm guessing the op has a 2000 or a 2001 because code P0110 is not listed in the codes for a 5.5. It is listed for 4th and 5.0 gens.

Nice bit of deduction there, Dennis.

I have an '01 Maxima and have the same issue where the air intake connection to the airbox is loose. How were these connected from the factory?

Is there a good fix for this or should I just duct-tape it like the OP?
