I'd like to see what it looks like on other people's cars to see if I should get it or not.

A vertical grill is alot like Russian roulette. It looks neat until you actually do it.

keep your original grille, just paint it a different color

There is no grill that looks as good as stock on this car. Just paint the stock one with a nice clearcoat afterwards, you'll love it.

And then consider blacking the headlight housings out.

Haha - the car in the picture shown on amazon looks like rroderiques77's Sin City Max. And it doesn't even have the advertised "vertical bar" grill.

A friend of mine has a mesh type grill on his car. It's black and his car is black, and it looks good.

It looks good because black car. Any other colour it doesn't look right on.
