ANyone try this? I've seen a million and one real hid's, but have never seen a car with an HID Kit in real life. Do they actually look real? Compared to an acura or infinity or bmw, lexus, etc.??? The pics i've seen of aftermarket HID kits look greenish is that how they really look? eww
Anyway when I get my 5th gen I might get the philips HID H4 kit, just looking for opinions.

Uh they are real HID. Just no guarantees on the beam pattern.

Factory HID on the current I30t is more greenish than the factory HID on the current Acura 3.2TL.

well

Couldnt they be reaimed? I'm sure that a philips HID kit would easily outshine any bulbs

How about stock housing? Does it hold up the heat pretty good, is it gonna crack couple months down the road????

I dont know, anyone has HID kit installed on their H4s???

You can reaim the headlamp, but the beam pattern will still be screwed up-- just pointed in a different direction.

Here's a video of a Philips HID kit I installed:

pictures don't do the kits justice.. you gotta see them in person

ps these are the same kits standard on BMW, Benz, Porsche, Audi, etc..

Yo nine7MAX the pics you see with HID's,

may seem green but tey are not at all green they have a brilliant white light with a slite hint of blue from certain angels. The HID pics appear green because of cameras distorting the color,Also for all dumb asses {sorry} who are still wondering about them melting your headlights why on earth would they possibly melt them if they are only 35 Watt bulbs? Also for the last time the beam pattern is fine it does not bother traffic at all,put it this way before I installed HID's I always got Highbeames cuss all of my Piaa headlights now I never not once have been high beamed with my HID's if anything I think the light is soothing to the eyes just my opinion though. Also I can see atleast twice as well with Hid's so, tell me why all you guys are still constently asking the same stupid questions over and over again do you think I am just making this Shi* up Sheeesh just read the old post everyone allready gave there opinions and facts on this subject atleast 10 times now.Sorry if I sound like a **** but everyday someone asks the same stupid question and gets the same answers.

Wow! I got a little pissed when i saw it was green! I was like are all hid retrofits green?!?!? but watching it gradually turn from green to bright white as it started up was so cool.

How much for your kit??

Re: Yo nine7MAX the pics you see with HID's,

emax,
from cruising several car forums, I notice a few things.

Those who don't own XXX product usually don't like it and say it's useless. Those who do own XXX product love it and promote it. Don't you think those who actually own and have experience with XXX product would be best fitted to answer the questions ?

eh

I thought "maximaisok" was the onlyone who still purchased XXX products...
anyway...
Have you ever installed a philips HID kit on a 5th Gen max? The beam in that pic looks a little weird but is it like that on 5th gens? Thanks

I totally agree with you Puang,

Nine7Max no one that I know has installed HID's in a 5th gen but is it thought to be a better beam pattern, and since I think my beam pattern is good then 5th gen should be great.

A real HID headlamp only uses 35W of power, compared to the stock bulbs@55W and the Xenon bulbs, typically somewhere around 85W. They are a lot more wire-friendly. Less heat, also means longer bulb life.
