Problems installing Courtesy FSTB
Hi, all,
I was trying to install the bar on my 2001 GXE. But the driver side strut tower has a piece of metal soldered on it that is in the way of the plate. I cannot put the plate in.
Also, the piece of metal supports some wiring with a small black cylinder thing clamped on it. The cylinder is too protruding in the way of the bar too.
Any one else has the same problems on the 2001 Maxima? Please let me know what I can do. BTW, the bar is from Courtesy Nissan but it seems to be a generic bar from previous model years, i.e., it is not customized to specifically fit the 2001 Maxima.
Thanks, Yuan Wu

Good Luck
Courtesy's bar is generic..>
and that is the problem when installing it in a 2000 plus car. This thread talks about the Stillen bar and that it came with a spacer that will lower the small black cylinder so the bar will not hit it. You might have to bend the bracket the holds the small cylinder and as for the other part that covers the strut mount, that will need to be cut.
