I have owned my 02 max for a year or so now and I am starting to notice some transmission problems. It started with reverse not going into gear properly and now it seems that there is a syncro problem when Shifting into second and upon the overdrive kicking in. I am at the point were I believe I just need to put a new trans in but wanted to see if anyone had any better ideas.

 

My car (same one) had problems going in reverse. I was at walmart once and there were people waiting to drive by when I was backing out and my car wouldn't go into reverse :/. Don't hit the gas when it does that haha I did, it was pretty scary. Check the transmission fluid to see if it smells burnt. Mine did and my mechanic (who sold me the car) said that I needed a new transmission, thank god it was covered under the warranty he gave me!
