Which Calipers/Brackets for 6th Gen BBK
I searched all of the 6th gen BBK kits, and I even had a 6th gen BBK on my car before. I cant remember or find this info.
Do we need the pre 05/04 or the post 05/04 Setup? I am guessing the pre 05/04 must be the 5.5 gen carry over.

Also, If I were you I would not get that eBay kit. No-name rotors that are drilled and slotted usually mean at least 2 things:
EDIT: Also, what the hell is Callahan brake pads? From Tommy Boy? Seems like low quality junk pads.
1: They were not factory drilled and slotted, (factory drilled and slotted rotors arent actually drilled and slotted, the holes and slots are in the casting, making them much stronger)
2: Drilled and slotted rotors WILL crack. It's not if, but when.
I guess a couple more things
3: Holes/Slots are to keep the rotors cool, but they decrease pad life and stopping power, provided you wont heat them up enough to make use of the cooling properties. (Do you autocross your max much)
4: I know they look cool, but just get Brembo blanks. They are $60 from import RP and they are excellent quality.
Ill post my findings from Dave B on here tomorrow.

of course i dont autocross it, its a maxima. all it does is go to work/school, and maybe stop by the gas station on the way home. i bet tommy boys parts would work just fine for that, and look alot better than my corroded stock junk.
the cobra is another story...

Why buy garbage rotors just because they look cool when you can get quality Brembo blanks for the same or less.
You can buy OEM Calipers from junkyard (local or online) for $40 for the pair, get a set of Brembo Blanks for $120 from ImportRP, and a set of Hawk HPS pads for $80 from importRp, and youre at $200.
If you really want to do it right, you can buy the rebuild kits from Nissan for the calipers for another $40, be at $240 with top quality parts .
Throw another $4 in there for some hi temp paint in the color of your choice.

that was the first "kit" i looked at. id really like to put a set of brembo calipers on the car, but the best(if u want to call it that) deal ive seen so far was $385 for 2 busted up front evo calipers. then the brackets for them are like $200

I am thinking about trying a 06 350Z 2 Piston (non Brembo) Caliper w/ the A34 Bracket (Torque Member) and the A34 12.6" Rotor. The 2 Piston Caliper with its own bracket and 12.6" rotor works on 5th gens, but not without shaving the rotor down a couple mm on the O.D.
From the FSM, it looks like the 350Z caliper will bolt up to the A34 Bracket, and the A34 Bracket looks slightly wider than the 350Z bracket.
There is a wrecked 350Z near me at a Junkyard im going to go look at tomorrow. I'll post here what I find.

Im going to call Dave B and ask him tomorrow. It seems there are lots of threads with people using 04 Calipers, Brackets (Torque Members), and Rotors, so it sounds like the pre-05/04 will work for sure.

I read it before ur the only person to mention this 05/04 mfg date i wouldnt even know where to buy pre 05/04 calipers? What site are you shopping on? I would say best bet is go with post 05/04 calipers cuz ppl on that thread are even using 06 calipers and rockauto has same part numbers for 04 05 06 i havent checked any further no need to.

hey, sorry to bump this but i am wondering if it really matters for the year of the calipers, because i just got some 07 calipers from advanceauto, and they list all the same part # for all the years, so does the rotors. Who actually ran into a fitment issue with the later years?
