Is MOOG cheaping out on their 5th gen strut mounts?

I ordered a set of oog strut mounts for my car and my friends car, mine were perfect brand new, my friends came in and 1 was good and the 2nd one looked used, the metal was all scratched up and the rubber looked like it was refurbished and rubber cemented by hand!! So i didnt really trust the part and i emailed rockauto and they exchanged the part for me, i sent back to the old one and i received the new one today and it looks pretty much the same.
It has a few less scratches on the housing but the the mount inside looks refubished.

If i had never seen the brand new moog mount i would have not known the difference but these mounts are different and when shown to ppl who have no clue about car parts they tell me it looks refurbished.....so i dunno if its rockauto or moog but somebodys cheaping out here!!

I would suspect RockAuto for cheeping out on the parts as they are acting as a middle man, Moog has always been a trusted vendor and I just can't believe they would put out sub standard parts. You could always try to contact Moog directly and give them the same information you did your post above to see if they will stand behind there quality image and offer a solution.

I've experienced that samething with them, once the part was here it was in some other name brand box IIRC Source One made in Taiwan but had the Moog part number! That's not what I wanted!!!! So I bought balljoints from NAPA that were made in the USA, looked 1000% better and was a little more pricey! But no problem !
