as far as performance issues go: at first it was running fine then it slowly got worse nowit wont wont rev past 3k in neutral and 2500 in gear sometimes 1500 it would jerk as if it were hitting the red line.. it burned much more oil before than it does now and the smoke is only if i would go past 5500k and beyond, and after i come to a stop.never noticed any smoke on startup. i had to go to inspection to avoid being ticketed, car failed due to SES light. the code was p0300

Wow, same thing actually happened to me. I replaced valve covers, gaskets, plugs and Y-pipe with a warpspeed. 3 weeks later, engine is smoking and doesn't have much power. I got some advice from some mechanics and other peepz, and came to the conclusion that my piston rings are fried and that I also possibly have a blown head gasket.
When the SES blinks, there are multiple misfires (P0300) and ****'s getting wild inside the engine.
Rebuilding the engine will not be worth it. Your best bet at this point is to get another engine, replace it with this one and before you drop it in the car, gut all the cats so that this sort of problem has a less chance of occurring in the future.
I'm currently dealing with this issue and don't have any means of pulling my engine out to work on it. I'd rather rebuild mine on my own, but I don't have much money nor do I have the equipment to do so.
Found it kinda interesting that you're dealing with the same issue with the same car (mine is also an 03 6mt) and that you live in the same city that I do. Weird.
Last thing you wanna do at this point is drive it and damage the block anymore than it already is.

check MAF sensor
I am really surprised no one has seemed to think of his Mass Air Flow sensor needs cleaning or replaced. I can garuntee you the problem you are having is coming from a dirty or faulty MAF sensor. I have been through this issue and seen this issue time and time again. I am no guru but I've been dealing with the Max game for quite a while now and I manage a NAPA in SE Alabama. There is a product you can buy, it may need to be ordered but its manufactured by "CRC" and its called "mass air flow cleaner". 100% worth the $5 shot. Remove your maf sensor from the intake tube spray it quite a bit from all angles let dry ten minutes and try it. If that does not work 100% than you will need to call the dealer provide them with the VIN# and get the correct MAF sensor part # required for your car. Not sure abut the 03 model but I do know my 02 could use 3 different ones but only one operates properly. Once you get the dealer part # call Napa or any parts store and have them interchange that # and get it. If you can afford the $600 dealer part get it if not you can get a after market for around $200 depending on your specific one required. I can garuntee you will have your car back running just fine especially if you replaced coils and don't hear any rod knock. If you don't repair this problem pretty fast you will stop up your cat with all the smoke and mess up the exhaust valves. Then my friend you have a real issue! Try this in these steps and you will have another org member smile on your face as you punish them ricer kids Honda's etc. Hope this helps, well I know it helps just hope you try. Have a good news and let us know how this does for you and your 03.
