My 03 Maxima has a little musty smell to it and smells when you turn on the vent or a/c. When i run the a/c and park the car no water appears under the car. Not sure where the water is going? My carpet is all dry by the way.

 

How old is your cabin air filter?

 

I recently replaced the cabin filters. The old ones were probably factory ones and they did stink. I cleaned out the cabin filter box and even took out the blower and cleaned it up. Still smells.

 

i believe the car only uses the cabin filter when you have the air on recirculate. vehicles usually pull their air from the windshield cowl. the openings are usually on drivers side, get a can of duct cleaner like this and spray it in the opening while you have your ac on full blast. after you feel youve sprayed enough, turn the ac off as fast as possible and let this sit in the air ducts.

 

I will have to look for this stuff. I guess it can be found at Autozone or one of the others?

This is incorrect. The air filter is after the vent door that selects outside or recirculate.
