2000 Timing Chain Rattle When Cold
Over the past year my 2000 has been developing a cold start timing chain rattle issue. When I first start it in the morning and the idle begins to lower while it is warming up (around 1500 rpm), I hear a rattle for about 20 seconds that sounds like the tensioner. I know this problem is huge on the 3.5's, but was wondering if it also affect high mileage 3.0's? (I have 155k on mine) Should I be concerned about this and replace the tensioner, or is it nothing to worry about? Once it warms up the noise is gone.

I would say its ok as long as you don't spin the engine at higher speeds. My friends had that issue for about a year now on his g and he's still driving. You can hear some sort of faint high speed rattling if you rev it higher 4k+ so I assumed it was the rattly chain. I'd fix it though, its annoyin and.it can prob only get worse
