PIAA Extreme Whites vs. Super White Platinum Series

Ok. Question for anyone that currently has or have tried these type of H4 bulbs. About six months ago, I put in the PIAA Super White Platinum Series bulbs and I thought they were great! Nice color and quite bright. Not to long ago, one of my bulbs blew out, probably due to me touching the bulb or something so I threw my stock bulbs back in for awhile. Two days ago, I went and bought the PIAA Extreme Whites which has a brighter output of 135/125w compared to 115/135w on the Super Whites and I like them but for some reason they don't look bright at all. I'm kind of disapointed as they claim that these bulbs are the closest to HID but yet I felt that my Super Whites were a lot brighter. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just missing something here? You would think that the Extreme Whites would be brighter but not to sure. Maybe it's just my head playing games. Thanks for the help.

Put ONE of the Super Whites back in....

Do a side by side comparison from a distance against a wall preferably with a WHITE surface. That's what I did with the Super White vs. Plasma. Just place a T-shirt over each one to keep them from over lapping.

Please post a picture, since I haven't seen the Xtreme White vs. the Super Whites except in the wedge bulbs. It seems to be more blue and less yellow.

That might pose a slight problem. I don't have the superwhite bulbs anymore since I threw them out. But I will post a pic soon. Thanks though for your help.

If I'm not mistaken I could have sworn I saw a thread with pics/comparison of these two bulbs. Did you search the threads yet?

No, I did a search and didn't find any thread that comes close to a comparison to the two different bulbs. Unless of course I'm looking in the wrong area.

Coloring

on the www.autobulbdepot.com site they have color comparisions but not really a brightness. The Xtremes are colored bulbs in order to appear blue in color. The Platniums are a lighter coloring and actually appear colorless (clear). The Plasma's are darker colored bulbs and appear purple. The light output (ie. brightness) is reduced based on the darker tint of the bulb to make these different colorings. While Xtremes are rated higher in wattage, unless it was a clear bulb you would never notice the difference.
