Good Bye Maxima.org

I have an 2001 Nissan Maxima it tapped out at 236,000. The maxima reason why i got rid of it is because the torque converter went. So my father give me his car. i know i havent contributed a lot but i have learned a lot. and i thank everyone.

so this is what i'm driving now.

i'm happy with it. it's 5 speed. :-)

If you got rid of the Max for a torque converter... You'll be leaving the Acura once that head gasket blows

You'll be back

On a serious note, good luck with your new car

Get ready to drop a 3.5RL engine in there. It's a nice car, but that's what, a 92ish or so? They're getting old and they do like to blow headgaskets and they suck to work on with the front mid-engine, FWD platform. Don't get me wrong, I love Legends, but if I bought one it would be from an enthusiast who's got a 94-95 Type-II GS 6-speed with an RL swap already done. Then you'd have something a little more reliable!

Thanks everyone. Well here's the low down on the car.
The body has 200,700
Engine has 48,000
Transmission has 120,000
Differential has 75,000
Radiator. as 6,000
Both axles has 600
And its from my dad so I know everything about the car.

I did research and the reason why the head gasket
Is because the intake manifold get unburned gas and
builds up near cylinder 5 and the egr gets blocked and then
Blows the head.

So I'm going to get a type 2 intake manifold and cams and ecu
And I should be near what a type 2 engine HP is which is 230 vs 200.

My father in law owns about 5 junk yards so getting these parts wont be a problem
If the maxima was 5 speed I would try and do everythijg in my power to fix it.
