Styling the Maxima ? (Rim question, Grill Question)
First off, what do you think would be better 20 inches or 22 inches? Anything over that is retarded I would say.
But 20 inches seem more ideal less power loss, and not to heavy for gas consumption and no scraping.
Also. Where can I purchase some right rims for our car and which type/brands do you think look best?
Don't want no uglass ratchet looking rims either.
Not looking to pay a bunch of money either.
Also as for grills, I seen a few sites - But where can I get some customs specifically for the max? And where.
Thanks

what year maxima do you have? the 4th gen nothing bigger then 17-18 5th gen nothing bigger then 19 6th gen 19s and 7th gen nothing bigger then 20s and thats pushing it us maxima owners dont really like huge rims. and for grills i like the cmod grills look on ebay just type in maxima grill

imo, 19s are pushing it on a 5th gen. For the money you'd spend on 20s or 22s i'd bet you could find youself some nice 18s out there.. as for the grille i think the aftermarket look hideous and you should only paint the stock one or get a c mod grille which has no logo i believe..

I agree with both of you, huge rims would ruin the car.
But after all, stock is 17' i mean a few more inches doesn't look bad
heres a video of someones on dubs, he also has a video of it on 22's.

20 inches seem fine? No or 19's maybe.
And if I get 20's or 19's should I leave ride height stock or raise/lower it?
Thanks/

if your really set on 19s or 20s lower it but lol that max in that vid is ugly and a yucky grill i dont like billet grills and i have one on my max i bought it with it on it lol i have 19s on my 5.5 gen but only cause i bought it with on the car im trying to buy some 18s maybe the g35s or the 350z 06-08 rims. one thing about big rims its easy to mess up the tires

Better off lowering the Max with some 18's or 19's. What others mean by pushing it is not only the look of the 20's, but the fitment. I think 20's is the upper end on fitment where you'll start seeing rubbing.
IMO...lowered with 18's would be good and you'd probably come out ahead in terms of cost.
As far as the grille...IMO, all the aftermarket options look retarded to me. But then again...that's me. Everyone has a personal preference.

Point me to a direct link of a site where I can browse some 18's or 19's?
Please and thanks.
Also: we still buy the same tire correct? P225/50R17 93V except the radial will be 18 or 19

why are you downgrading to 18's for performance?
I mean why not go back to the stock 17's

I would suggest you check out craiglist to see what is local and available. In So Cal there are a lot of wheel dealers and independent people that post on craiglist.
Tire size will be dependent on rim diameter and width. You have some flexibility on the tire width (225 in your example) and aspect ratio (50 in your example), but any reputable rim dealer will be able to tell you what the limits are with those. On the aspect ratio you have to keep in mind a larger aspect ratio may cause wheel well rubbing depending on how large you go with rims. But a larger ratio will give you a more comfortable ride.

i would like to say downsize rather then downgrade cause i dont feel like its a downgrade cause of performance, cheaper tires and i dont have to be as gentle on the tires. also i cant go with 17s cause it wont fit since i have a big brake kit on my car lol

Go with an 18" or 19"....20s and bigger will not look good on the aging body, but before you even consider wheels, make sure the car is lowered first as the hideous 4x4 front gap on 5th gens is an eyesore, which gets magnified with bigger wheels. A clean, lowered Max on stock wheels looks better than stock suspension with aftermarket wheels.
On the way home from work, I saw a brand-new stock Infiniti M37X, and that car also has a brutal AMC-like wheel gap that animals can live in...What the hell is wrong with Nissan/Infiniti when it comes to stock ride height?

Looks like ill go with 19's what specs should I get my car lowered too and any idea of how much it will cost?

Whenever i first bought my Maxima I found a guy selling G 35 18s on Craigslist for 400 dollars and lowered it with h techs which cost about 200 bucks if you're going to lower on stock struts I wouldn't go to for past 1 inch. so that Came to abought 600 but if you want to lower it properly keep an eye out for BC coilovers they have a very smooth ride and you can just ride height anywhere from stock to 3 inch drop

All of This!!!!!!!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^
Oh, and Will!
All the best looking 5th gens have 18" or 19" rims and a drop IMO. I've never seen a single one with 20" rims or a horrid billet grill that looked good.
And I've never seen a Maxima without a drop that I really liked much. the drop is the MOST important part, IMO.
ALSO you haven't said what year your maxima is. the grill/front end is completely different from the 2000/2001 and the 2002/2003.

well thanks for the pic... most likely what i am going to do is get 19 inch rims. What dimensions should good well with that in terms of smooth ride/performance/gas mileage?
Also..
As for billet grills. I don't think they are horrid - On this one seems to be lil sexy lol IMO
