The regulator is in the fuel pump, the fuel damper is in the rail. And a port and polish might get you 5 hp

I'm trying something different. I wanted to open up the runners a bit for more flow. So I ceramic coated the outside of the LIM. I removed all the casting flaws on the inside of the runners with a die grinder and flap wheels. I then submerged the LIM in a solution of anodize/chrome remover. It dissolves aluminum very slowly, but didn't touch the ceramic coating. I left it in the bath for about a half hour. Looked like it was sitting in a bucket of 7-up. Then I very carefully taped up the outside of the LIM and then sand blasted the inside of the runners so that they got that stock look. Ie not smooth polished aluminum but that gritty look. LOL I figure I opened up the runners by about .010 - .020 " diameter.

lol ran badly with 350z injectors? You sure you had all the o-rings on and no leaks?
My old DW 440cc's started up perfectly every time and the car drove well for being un tuned with them. That sounds strange about the z injectors.

Mine runs like a dream w/ 440's also (AFR's on target), as it did with Z33's. Any smell of gas or anything like that? Where did you get the Z injectors from? You sure you buttoned down everything else down nicely, (IM/vac lines/intake, etc)?

I just re read this thread and realized you bought ebay injectors!
Why in the world would you cheap out on something as important as fuel injectors? Ebay motors is decent for exhausts/headers but I would never buy a sensor or anything that can be potentially rolling the dice on. Just my.02

Actually that is a trick that a local former Formula One engine builder/mechanic uses that same technique when building High Performance Turbo engines. He sand blast the runners to create a bit of turbulence, and you get too choose from (2) port styles (street or race).

I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that you don't want the runners to look smooth as glass.

Exactly, there has to be a boundry layer of disturbed air especially on a wet intake system so the fuel didn't puddle on the surface but atomized instead....I would guess in a dry intake there's a boundry air layer that acts a wedge or bearing like oil does to decrease the air friction, which in turn increases air velocity resulting in more torque....

I'm no physicist, but it always related to me, A golf ball. If its 100% smooth it won't go as fast or far, the dimples and rough surface make it faster, etc.

There its obviously in depth reasoning and testing behind this
