03 electrical system failure, ECU cooked
hello,
this evening i went to unlock my car with the keyless, and the lights didnt flash, no big deal, right? well i hop in, the interior lights and instrument cluster are flickering with no key in the ignition. i put the key in and the lights continue to flicker and i hear relays clicking. i turn the key, the car cranks, no start. power windows, seats, everything electrical is dead, and the cluster gets power no matter what, key in or out. i then popped the hood, and disconnected the battery. i stuck my head under the dash near the ecu and smelled ozone. maby im just parinoid, but im pretty sure i fried my G&# D@MN ECU. Even worse... when i disconnected the ecu to see what would happen (with the battery reconnected) the cars electrical system was still F*#%ed, meaning that the problem isnt even being caused by the ECU or its wiring. ive been having small electrical problems here and there leading up to this major meltdown. inermittent window failures, cruise control issues, and last year a mysterious no start that fixed itself after 20 mins. in light of all this i believe that one of my fuse/relay centers is getting wet or somthing, its just a really big problem to try and comprehend. so if anyone else has had any sort of problems like these, or if you have an idea to bounce off me. please do.im going to see if i can get my hands on some alldata tmrw morning. of course this happens when its 25 degrees out in the dark.

Your power seats should work all the time, they are connected straight to the battery via a fuse and a circuit breaker. Some sort of connection problem seems likely. Look at the wire connections on the bottom side of the under hood fuse block. I would disconnect the battery cable before doing this.
Also, check and make sure that the main chassis ground connection under the battery is clean and tight. Just follow the negative battery cable to this connection.
