1st Oil Change

Anyone know when a good time to change oil is after break in, I figured at about 1k, and then regularly after that. Also what type and weight oil would you suggest. Any thoughts? Thanks

Check your owners manual. it tells you in there. I personally use mobil 1 also you may want to use an OEM oil filter or mobil 1 filters, even napa filters are good or i should say are constructed very well believe it or not. The fram filters are not made very well contrary to what some people believe. i am taking an automotive class and we learn about this stuff yesterday. Good luck.

I just did my first oil change at 1100 miles{quaker state and Nissan filter}. I plan on doing my next change at 3750 and then 6750 and then I plan on switching to amsiol sythetic and a amsoil filter at 8000 miles.

I changed my oil at 1900 and used 5w30 valvoline.Next time I might put in synthetic.I'm a mechanic and we use valvoline in alot of motors and after many miles the ones with valvoline look spotless inside.

I was wondering, what are the API ratings on the Valvoline that you use?
