Never remove resonators or Cats to try and make it sound that way, or it will sound LESS like one, because of rasp, etc.

The g's sound muscular/rumbly for V6's, not raspy, it's too easy to get the Maxima to rasp when you mess with stuff.

The easiest thing you can do to get close on the cheap is install a Cattman 2.5" axel back, or a full 3" cattman cat-back, which is quite a bit more expensive.
Check out my sound vid I just posted in 5th gen. Its pretty non raspy I also feel that the g35 is actually MORE raspy due to is high pitched tone.

At idle, exhaust only comes out of one pipe, which is the one on the right if you're standing behind the car looking at the exhaust. I even put baby powder inside the other tail pipe and gently revved it at different rpm's with my g/f standing behind the car watching for it to open, and it did once the revs got up a little bit.

There are also archives of reports of the 2000 Maxima when it came out which included the mention of a variable capacity muffler. Here are a couple of links.

If you what a G35 sound I suggest you need too go examine a G35 exhaust system and how it's constructed. That means using a similar layout of component that are relatively the same size.....IMO my 03 sound better than most G35's.....I utilize the following.....Cattman Headers, Wsp Metallic substrate Cat (any hi flow cat will do), Cattman 3" catback with a hybrid resonator......it's smooth and addictive!

Any dohc v6 with vvt and/or a variable intake when paired with equal length headers/y will sound like a g35, take a look at v6 camaros and mustangs.

If ypu watch in cabin vids of maximas with intakes you'll notice the 3.5 roars more and changes pitch more often then a 3.0 as rpms go up cause of the intake path being switched up with VI and vct

Will this give me CEL? No, the main cat is after the last o2 sensor so test pipes will not trigger a CEL

Since it replaces the catalytic converter what happens to 02 sensor?? Nothing happens, it's after the sensor so the sensor thinks everything is fine and dandy

Is it worth it on a daily driver? Meh, I don't think it does. Your exhaust will smell more and you may fail a visual inspection if NY does that sort of check (my car is registered in PA so I don't know NY laws)

And is it true ill lose low end power - minimal.

Any advice or additional info speak your mind - get a Cattman FastCat which is a high-flow cat and have the best of both worlds.
Answered to clear up any confusion

I stand corrected. Thank you for the links. No wonder why the 02-03 Maximas gain so much more power when the exhaust is replaced. They were still using the same stock exhaust as a 3.0

Other than the pre-cats the mid pipes are all a nightmare. Crimps in 2 locations and non mandrel bends...bleh

Alright just receive my 02-03 tailpipe from a one of the guys on here, ok

Now am I able to just unscrew my old bolts from my muffler if their rust free, and bolt the new muffler on or do I have to just cut the pipe after the bolts and get it welded in

AE's had different tail pipes from other 5 and 5.5th gens in order to clear the rear bumper cover. You might want to take some measurements before you start doing anything.
