Raced Eclipse GT
His car is 2000 Eclispe GT 5 SPD, with Injen CAI, and exhaust mod. I got a 2K2SE Auto, K&N drop in only. From stop we go on green and we are head to head til about 40-50 MPH and then I start to pull ahead. Up to 100 MPH, I am about 1.5 to 2 car length ahead. Any further I would have left him, as I started pulling harder as the speed got higher. He claims with his mods, he gets 0-60MPH in 6.8 sec. If I can pass him at 40MPH, then I must be around 6.7 Sec to 60 MPH. Not bad for an Auto.

I thought 2k2 even w/auto is faster than that. Wasn't it that 2k and 2k1 autos 0-60 times in low 7's?

Motor Trend Says...
On a 5-speed:
200hp@5500rpms.
205tq@4000rpms.
3053lbs.
0-60 in 7.31 seconds.
1/4 in 15.50@89.90.
Pretty good run for a 2K1 5-speed stock vs. stock, but your 2K2 should have SPANKED him bad.

Re: Raced Eclipse GT
Cool.... sounds like fun...
Isn't the Eclipse a lot lighter than a Max. So even with the less HP it should run pretty good.
But, come on, a 4 door, entry level luxury sedan, beating a supposedly sporty car... ha ha ha
