O2 sensor removal

i tried to remove the O2 sensor but my O2 sensor socket wont fit right. its like the sensor is too thick for the inner walls of the socket.

what size is it by the way? 7/8 wrench seems too big. and 13/16 too small.

Everything on the car is metric, as far as I can tell. My guess is you're going to need a 22mm socket, or maybe 21mm. If you have metric wrenches you could use them to get the size correct before investing in the socket.

Mine works fine, it's a 7/8" O2 sensor removal tool. Removed plenty of Nissan O2 sensors.

I rented the kit from the parts store. it has a 22mm in there..

7/8 wrench is a bit to big and my 7/8 O2 socket wont go on all the way.

Never fails. Removing my WBO2 this weekend and will use it again. Tossed the old TxsT and got a ZT-3.

I went and bought an O2 socket but I didn't have enough room to use it so I used a 7/8" open end wrench. Worked just fine. Give 'em a shot of PB Blaster first.

My 7/8 open end wrench was too loose and started rounding the hex head, whereas the 7/8 o2 socket fit snugly. Go figure. While I was buying the o2 socket, I went ahead and bought both types - deep-well and offset.
